Doesn't work without Direct X 12
So I downloaded ultimate edition, and looks like I'm going to have to skip another Gears game. It can run on windows 7, but I have 8, and it seems like YOU HAVE to have X12 to run it... damn.

Hmm... Just Down's Tadigrade (lit., upgrade) to Windows 7. ┐(゚~゚)┌

Not doing it, but thanks lol. Guess I'm refunding then. To bad, haven't played any gears games since 3.
^ Windows 10, perhaps...? 🤔

...To be fair, however, there is literally NO REASON why this game needs to be DX12 -- it looks no better / worse than Gears of War (2006)!

I'm in the same boat. I have a GTX 980 and Windows 8.1... was super hyped about this game too. :(

Yup. PC issues just as predicted lol.
I'd petition for a DX11 or Vulcan version. DX12 is a gimmick, and clearly just a ham-fisted way in which to push people on to M$'s O.S. / Windows users to 'upgrade'.

That's just garbage... oh well.

Strange Brigade had both DX12 and Vulcan. I cannot see why Vulcan (if not DX11) compatibility could not be added...

It clearly said windows 7 or 10 in the requirements. You’re just stupid for not looking into it. Cry us a river and enjoy your other games while we have a blast bruh.

I asked multiple people if windows 8 would work and always got "Well 7 works, why wouldn't 8?" answer, just going by what people were saying.... don't have to be an ass about it.

It makes sense. Anything above realistically should work. But I guess these are specific requirements that are outside of the norm.

Well, I already refunded, and as far as I'm concerned, this game no longer exists, goodbye board. :)

The important question is, why the f*ck is anyone still using Windows 8 in 2019? You either go 7 or 10.
