Horde/Escape Mode - What are the team boost score skillcards for?

I never really understood what the score boost are for. Do they give you more cards for post-game or what?

It increases your XP gain by a small bit, it doesn't change the amount of cards as cards drops seems to be based on how long you actually played for.

trying to find this out for my self there was a post from a mod on there own forums saying it was just for the leader bored but others have said it helps with over all exp after a game is done so i cant say for sure if there both right or not
