I loitered for the cloth shop but that maid never moved. No that i remember i did hit the bank a few times on the bounty hunter (im on protector now). No wonder that deputy doesnt leave anymore
Doc - go around back and jump up at the backdoor to gain access to the roof and or get a barrel and place it there to reach. Open the skylight window, attach a rope, drop down when the Doc is sleeping and loot all chests/container required. If you want the key to make it easier in future you Need at least 5 lockpicks, as getting into the docs bedroom requires 5 lockpicks to open the door.
Gun shop, unlock the backdoor, then its a bit harder. You need to avoid a guard in side, wait until its patrol takes it down to face towards the door next to 2 cabinets at mid way down the room. again loot all required and again to get the key you need 5 locks pick so a total of 10 for this one
Armour shop , again 10 lockpicks total need, 5 for the front door and 5 the bedroom. Lockpick the front door and loot as required.
Bank requires dodging guards and a bit harder, again from the roof is best and learn the patrol routes for each guard.
Ty for the tips, trying them now.
Well that should work in theory. I haven't tested it.
Also, the Doc is the ONLY person you have to rob if you're looking to make money. Once you've sold her a decent number of Nimp heads, sneak in, rob just them and sell them to her all over again.
In my current run, I've sold her over 30, which when sold back to her, makes over 10K every time.
The perfect way to fill a new character's wallet.
I've found the answer to these questions, but you're probably not going to like the answer for "How to rob the bank." This isn't because it's difficult, but because it's mind-blisteringly stupid, tedious, and boring.
GUN SHOP:
First, wait until night. You WILL need ten lockpicks. DO NOT SAVE AFTER YOU HAVE PICKED THE LOCK TO A DOOR, THE DOOR WILL RE-LOCK UPON LOADING SAVE. Enter the gun store from the back. The assigned deputy/sheriff will patrol in three locations. The first is to the left of the owner's private quarters. Do not infiltrate during this time, you will most likely be caught. The second location is standing in the doorway to the left of the back entrance; they will be looking out towards the window, meaning you can crouch walk over and disable them. The third location will be a bit upwards from the second position, they will also be looking out the window. MAKE SURE NOBODY FROM OUTSIDE IS LOOKING INTO THE SHOP WHEN YOU DISABLE THE GUARD, you WILL be caught. Step two; entering the private quarters. Pick the lock, enter the room, SAVE. Do NOT pick the lock if you notice the owner is sitting at their table instead of sleeping in their bed unless they are seated in a position that is looking away from the door. If they are seated looking away from the door, enter and knock out the owner. Take their key and all the cash you've spent at the shop. The cash you spent is the ONLY reward you're getting out of this unless you're early in the game and would like to see about stealing some of the silver/gold guns out of the chests in the shop proper. Getting the key means you'll never need to pick the lock for this particular shop again. P.S.; If you make a bit of noise in the shop as the owner is at their table, you will alert them. They might end up getting trapped on their table, where they will remain for an indefinite amount of time. You might just need to reload the game to fix this.
DOCTOR'S OFFICE:
There's usually an unbarred window, and no patrolling sheriff/deputy, so you can just open the window, crouch roll in, and steal.
BANK:
I hate this. I hate this so much. Robbing the vault was not worth it. You will get NOTHING out of robbing the vault, save for the two copper ore stored inside. What you're here for is to steal back every bit of copper/silver/gold ore/ingots you've sold to the ore trader. Climb on top of the Sheriff's roof, jump over to the bank. Save. Enter from the skylight closer to the Sheriff's office, there is some lady usually standing around near this skylight that WILL see you if you're not careful in how you roll/land. Stun her. Drag her comatose body to the bedroom, place it away from the door so nobody sees it if they look into the room. If they enter the bedroom proper, you're done for. Pick up two chairs, place them in front of the balcony's exit. Save. Grab the chairs and throw them towards the office you initially infiltrated. Someone (maybe all of them) will hear the noise and run up to the chairs to set them upright. Save. If you're lucky, two people will have gone downstairs while the last lags behind just far enough that they won't notice you knocking out the remainder. Even luckier if this is the ore trader. If it is not the ore trader, drag the body into the bedroom like before and repeat this process. Make sure you have an ally with you that you can offload all the ore/ingots to. You can now leave the city (loitering or waiting for them to wake up WILL mean you lose reputation), and come back in the morning to offload your newly regained paydirt. Be warned, there have been quite a few times where the NPCs pathing is so screwy that you just can't get this to work. If you REALLY want to rob the vault, one of the cabinets in the office you infiltrated will have the code for the vault. Lure the deputy up using the steps above, and knock him out. Claim your gracious bounty of two copper ore.
It's purely random whether a shop will have one when they restock.
After about 40hrs or so I never found a legendary rifle, from treasure or vendors. Got legendary for every other weapon. Kinda odd
After that, you'll be so flush that you can buy anything else you want in the game legitimately and risk-free, legendary weapons included. This also allows you to put any gold you find towards making the golden unbreakable shovel and pickaxe.
you SHOULD NOT sell any gray or orange items at all. either scrap them and if they are melee weapons do NOT sell them to stores. this will also trigger a bug where if store hits max storage limit, legendary items will not spawn at later journeys. Melee unfortunately sucks in this game and avoud it until your journey is over then bump up all the melee skills since followers will actually use it effectively for pigman especially.
you do NOT need lockpics to rob armorers. you need to climb to the roof and attach a rope to the chimney and lower yourself from chimney. loiter until night and rob everything from store including gray items so lower the count of grey items in the store.
you must invest in crafting in first two journeys to be able to make heroic and legendary armors. bear and snake ones are easy to acquire and produce. bison one is bugged in the game and you cannot craft a legendary bison until you find a random blue bison armor (2nd or 3rd journey). bison is the best armor since it blocks fire.
that is it. ignore anything else. only for first journey rob doctor to get health kits and those 50 dollar a piece things.
I hope this helps. I carry 10k gold in my pigman and protector playthrough with this method. obviously this breaks the economy of the game so you may choose to not to do this.
you need money, to be able to buy things from random merchants during travel and also for buying legendary weapons as soon as you see them. buy them doesnt matter never leave a legendary weapon in a store.
cheers
