Has anyone set up MZ to allow the player to create a custom character? Is it feasible or is there a plugin someplace that allows it?

The program itself allows custom creation in "Tools > Character Generator" however you can find DLC and content from other users to extend the features of this generator.

I think they were asking about letting the player themself create a character, most likely in-game.

I don't know of any MZ plugins that let you do that, but SmRndDude (I think I got his name right) made such a plugin for MV. You can't do that in vanilla.

Thanks. Yea I want the player to customize their own character at the start of the game. I guess I'll hold off on MZ for a bit.

I believe there's at least one plugin system for this.

There's many plugins that can do that, all of which are paid besides one that I know of written in Japanese. You can't expect to just have all the fixins of a fully fleshed out game in a basic engine. Code it yourself or pay someone else to do it. You can get a good one for like 15-30 bucks.
