The episode 4 puzzle with the gates in the catacombs was also super cool. Episode 4 in general was wonderful with its non-linearity.
I think the worst puzzle is the library. I don't understand how anyone could possibly solve that without screenshotting every monitor. When I replay that section I just read a walkthrough.
I also literally do not understand the slides puzzle on the projector to this day. I figured the door was first and the guy pointing left is last so the other 3 is just a few combinations to check. I don't get it.
(The actual worst puzzle is the photograph, but I guess they're fixing that)
Hardest puzzle... maybe the first one? I think it's definitely the puzzle I was stuck on the longest.
Worst for me was the alchemy puzzle. Been years since high school so I spent more time on that puzzle just trying to figure out why my mix wasnt working. It's the only puzzle so far I gave up and looked online.
And I agree the hardest was the slides puzzle. I beat it just by brute force and even on a second playthrough didn't understand why it worked.
A lot of puzzles felt a bit too cryptic for me though. I don't need my hand to be held but in particular I struggled with the fuse box, the doll house, and the library slides. I didn't even bother with the episode 5 keypad one beyond making the picture. Kudos to the dev's but I think they made some puzzles for their own big brains rather than us little people! :D We sometimes need at least a few clues to go on.
My favourite aspect of survival horror games is the exploring and findings keys / items, then figuring out how to use them, so I have to agree with Sammun with how great episode 4 was in that aspect.
Best: In general puzzles from chapter 1. I liked the fuse one but also the safe combination because you must find the clues, and the idea of the missing paint with an oval shape is very good. You feel satisfied when you obtain that last number, even if it's easy to figure the combination when you have all numbers.
Worst: the slides in chapter 3, it almost has destroyed my interest in the game. Until that puzzle I liked the game a lot, now I play to finish the game. I hope next chapters will be better.
Best puzzle though is chapter 4's gate puzzle. very simple and gave me an AHA moment.
Most of the puzzles dont fit very well into the game (key puzzle for example), but as a fan of old adventure games i must salute to the devs that they made puzzle solving a key element of the gameplay (and not just mindless action).
Best and intensed puzzle was the cellar maze at the end of episode 2, i really felt panic down there because i was playing the episode with daniel:)
