Story question - Spoiler - Finale - wait so is Ariadne...!?
Did Argos kill Ariadne when she was a baby? I was playing Argos's nightmare and he found baby Ariadne and killed her.

Seeing how Husher and Issac's nightmares are all events that actually happened, does that mean Argos actually killed Ariadne when she was a baby?

Is the Ariadne that we are seeing now actually dead? o_O

I don't think so? And I don't think Husher's and Isaac's were real events.

I am pretty sure Husher's one is real though, the events depicted in the play match with what the documents were saying in episode one if I remember correctly.

I was thinking that Ariadne became corrupted and that even though Daniel saved the world since Ariadne is still alived she corrupted him again.
So he became the presence (the last cutscene was really good emotion wise)

But I was surprised that he killed Ariadne too, I was thinking Elayne would have stand between Ariadne and Argos..
And in the journal Daniel read, Argos only talks about Elayne and his wife, nothing about Ariadne...

Maybe Argos didn't kill Ariadne? Don't forget his mind was very confused at such times...

that's true, I was wondering if I can take the nightmare events literally or if I should treat them as they are, psychological nightmares.

I think his journal made clear that he was convinced that someone looking like his wife and older child was trying to take his baby, so he killed them. He had no reason to kill Ariadne.

Plus I'm pretty sure Isaac Farber didn't hang 3 people.

I thought all those three people are representation of himself.

I was slightly disappointed with the nightmares in "There" and that there wasn't an alternate option to intentionally fail them, since the "correct" objective is to fulfill the Presence's desire (prevent the patients from escaping, kill Ariadne as a baby, retell the story of Husher's family being killed/trapped by the Presence etc.).

What if, say for example, when playing as Husher and being asked "What did Catherine and Saul do next, you selected "escape" and that actually changed the events of the past and kept them alive? Or as Argos you refused to kill Ariadne and walked off away from the crying? Or as Berenice you destroyed the machine?

Perhaps doing this would trap Daniel in "There" but seal away the Presence forever since the door would stay closed? This would be an interesting, alternate ending with a heroic sacrifice and IMO would provide a more satisfying alternate conclusion.
