Bug: Sound Problem

I'm getting a popping/crackling sound that becomes louder into a play session. At first I associated it with fire/torch sound effects, but the longer I play the louder it gets. After I leave the game, it shows up on any video I play outside the game (youtube vids for example). I can remove it with a machine restart.

The problem only starts when I'm playing Solasta. I recall first noticing the problem after the Spring Update, about the same time I noticed the Paladin slowdown bug

Has anyone else had anything like this?

My sound card is an Asus Zonar Essence STX.
