Cannot leave the coven of arivad area back to town after killing baddies.

i kill the baddies leave the basement and no area to use to leave the alley in front of basement.

Did the quest "The Nature of Evil" complete? Did you get your 500 XP? If you answered YES to both questions have you exited the game and reloaded a save to see if that resolves the issue?

yes it was completed and i got 500xp. map has nothing obvious i can click on but it will try that. did exit game reload and load save but that didnt work. took save before entered and completed but same thing after finish couldnt exit the alley

ok figured out why it happened. when followed illoreth i entered blue area and immediately left again the alley before the guard encounter. i repeated from a prior save and it didnt happen. i i did think at the time it felt wierd what i did so its my own fault thanks for the help.
