Sweet! I'm 58 and have been gaming since Pong! This is very good news as I love this franchise!

After BG3 I hope it's a big step up.

I personally hope the the devs won't chase BG3's shadow and capitalize on Solasta's real strengths, that is its more restrictive tactical combat and the tools provided to make your own campaigns.

now see, if you went to Solasta 2 discussion pages to discuss Solasta 2? You'd already know the Devs dont plan on a D.M. tool for sure. MAYBE sometime after release, but maybe not.

I wonder why so few studios do this well... or even try. As far as I can tell, NWN did quite well financially.

That's simple, there's very little way to monetise it. If they release something like that, it'll potentially cut into their DLC. Gotta remember NWN was released in a different era, back before DLC per game was the norm. If it released today, each chapter of it's main game would be a separate DLC, and the dungeon master mode would be gutted at best to sell assets separately.

Thats not true. Again, TES disproves that. They have included their Constr Kit, in Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim. Hasnt hurt sales one bit an din fact, is WHY sales of the 20 yr old MW, still carry on.

People always tend to forget that expansions existed back then. The only difference is the "downloadable" part.

Never said they didn't however comparing expansions of that era to a modern one, just isn't fair to the modern game, old expansions were usually akin to buying a whole game in terms of content, these days you do good to get 3-4 hours out of an "expansion" that costs the same or more then a full game.

Guess it depends on the game and the genre. I don't think the Civ II expansions were really like buying a whole new game. They were pretty similar to how modern Civ DLCs are done, except now you have the option of (for example) just buying access to an individual leader you want, if you don't want to pay for a season pass. MMOs tend to regularly release expansions that provide many hours of content as well.

Or, to point out the obvious, the Solasta DLCs have all been MUCH more than 3-4 hours of content. Certainly there are tons of super cheap DLCs as well, but I don't see a lot of evidence that studios have stopped releasing bigger pieces of content. It just happens that the "downloadable" part makes it economical to do small things as well.

no they werent like a whole new game. Diablo had 1 or 2 expansions...FAR cry from whole new game. D2 had 1 expansion I think.

Good to know, I can wait for both that and a sale then. No rush to buy if there won't be workshop dungeons to play for a while.

This company has only 1 problem to me. They did not give players options to disable outlines and customize our experience.

I prefer a immersive experience and I disable the outlines.

I do not need outlines in a turn based game there is no rush and the game is naturally easier than a real time game.

and that is the single most MINOR complaint, I have ever read about the game
