The secret complex and underground city are honestly some of the best dungeons ever made for this game, but they are pretty deep into the campaign before you can gain access to them.
You gotta suffer through the doldrums at the beginning to get to the good stuff.
Once you rescue the prisoner, you can never visit the city again unless you're sure your done with the Dominion forever. Once you talk to the dude in the Swamp, suddenly the Rebellion hates you.
There's no logic or warning to any of it. No indication that you're about to piss off another group, nor in fact any sensible reason why the other group would even know that you did the thing. Why would the Rebellion suddenly hate me for talking to the Forge dude in the swamp? How did they even know?
It's all extremely random and undirected. You don't ever actually MAKE a choice. I was trying to stay neutral and work with all factions until I learned enough about them to make a choice. Nope. Just this random quest made the choice for you without any indication.
Very frustrating "storyline."
