A DM tool wasn't envisaged when the game was originally designed. It was released as a free update and was created by the CTO in his spare time, so I think we should give it some slack.
The Custom Items feature for the DM is in a *weird* state currently, I don't know how else to describe it due to it both having some support for actual custom items, and not enough. The way it works is that for weapons you can for all intents and purposes customize them near fully. Want a Scimitar that causes paralysis on hit? A two handed weapon that causes prone and poison? Want to adjust the hit die, the enhancement bonus, the damage type? You can do all that.
So logically, you think you'll be able to do the same for magic items, or at least armor. But no, you can't. You can't even adjust AC values for armor, much less create magic items with unique properties. Its absolutely maddening. Will it get fixed so that all items can be customized? Who knows. The developers for all intents and purposes do not communicate about the Dungeon Maker and are very clearly prioritizing other types of content. This even applies to basic things, like area activators for dialogue which I was told "were cut at the last moment for Lost Valley" but have been missing with not a word for months now.
It's incredibly frustrating all around.
Absolutely not complaining, just did not understand the decision. Thanks for the clarification.
Please get off "the workshop" routine. That excludes all game users who bought the game through a different source.\User made content can be hosted at a variety of independent sites, allowing ANY Solasta owner to enjoy them.
The idea of modding the artwork, faces, hairs, beards, clothes, etc,etc...is not going to happen. I called for it from day 1 of the games release when many longtime DnD players like myself, 1st called for modding tools to be published. I BEGGED for a tool-set, akin to Bethesda's Construction Kit for Elder Scrolls. I got shouted down by fanbois for a year on this. It isnt going to happen. And for more than any other single reason, it i why Solasta will always be one of the best, of the "could have been so much more", titles.
