Disable auto-equip
Auto-equip regularly causes my casters to equip an item in their off hand, preventing them from being able to cast spells. I also walked around with an unidentified ring for god knows how long without noticing since it never appeared in the inventory... I think it was a quest reward.
Any way we can disable this?

You can turn off one of the 3 ways needed to cast spells. One of them (I forgot the name) is to use physical gestures needed. Once you do that, they should be able to cast regardless of items in hands.

+1 to the OP. Auto-equip is a bad design decision and they need to either eliminate it completely or allow the player to disable it.

Agree with OP.

I TOTALLY agree with the OP! I enter battles with weapons I've never equipped only to realize that its the game that's doing it for me!

Thanks. This is sort of a work-around, but it's still an issue with my rogue who has a rapier and ends up with daggers in his off-hand all the time (which are different size and can't be dual wielded) or whenever I want to use a versatile weapon two handed, such as quarterstaff or longsword. Also still the issue with other items auto-equipping. I hope there are no cursed items in the game...

Yes, auto equip needs to go. Also the bug that kept putting shields in every free off-hand, even for wizards and rogues...

I think this bug got worse recently, or is it just me?

Now that I think about it, why is there an auto equip?
This is not a looter game where your given incremental upgrades every few fights / chests, hell I'm level 5 and still using +1 short swords.

If your characters don't have something in their free hands it's usually on purpose, the only thing I think auto equiping is justifiable is for arrows and even then it's not hard just to pluck them from your inventory as you need.

Yup, auto-equip is very poorly suited for a game like this one.

Agree.
