You can go to settings to make it possible, or mark your shield so you can cast VSM spells (but not VS spells), or be a battle cleric.

Battle clerics can cast with both hands full.
Otherwise you need to turn your shield into a divine focus by marking your deity on it.

Casting most spells in dnd (spells with somatic components) requires an empty hand to manipulate the spell. Most spells also have a material component, like spell pouches or spell focus as an alternative.

Paladins and clerics can mark their shield with their god to use it as a material component, and while it's in your hand it can be manipulated like a somatic component.
The only thing is that a spell that has somatic components but not material component, cannot be cast with a full hand.

Or.... You simply turn the option off in the options and remove the official DND rule from your game.

I ll just remove it becz this is my 4th walkthrough. I already canceled 3 walkthroughs becz of lack of knowledge in this game, nevertheless, my library is full of D&D games. This game for somehow low on instructions
