Lock picking is never a blocker in this game, and all the traps are very, very weak...and there's only a few.
If you MUST have every chest, come back to those areas later once your Wizard gets Knock at level 3.
The only bad line up would be 4 fighters. Any other combo can beat the game easily.
I am agree lockpicking tool is not a must as you can return back after learn lock to unlock chest and trap never been painful
Basically for me for character creation what you need is :
Some one with very high Int to handle Arcana and History
Some one with very high WIS to handle Insight, Survival, Perception
Some one with very high CHR to handle Intimidation and Persuasion
Some one with very high STR as main damage dealer and main jumper, climber etc
Arcana usefull for crafting weapon and armors also determine spells power.
History used to determine historical event through main story correctly
Insight important to suggest next move and can be use to unlock bestiary entry before fight enemies
Survival used to unlock Bestiary after fight and also to surivive from skill bad effect
Perception used to aware about trap and surroundings situation
Intimidation and Persuation important for diplomation
Go with battle cleric, he can tank a bit (since he can cast with shield).
THe fighter has a Lowlife background so he is proficient in thieves tools.
Its a highly effective party for in your face combat, as they can take a pummeling and all of them have high AC.
Both Fighter and Paladin can act as "Tanks" to shield the Cleric and Mage. Generally the Paladin has Great Weapon fighting style and dishes out the most damage with his Smites.
For the Fighter I go with Champion and Dual Wield in the Official Campaign... for Player Made Modules I go Mountain Fighter for the +2 AC.
Cleric is also sturdy and has high AC, the Mage is usually a Shock Arcanist with Sellsword background so they are ALL heavily armored and Ambushes can't generally take them down.
The party itself can take on some heavily intensive combat with large numbers of opponents. And stand toe to toe with even the strongest monsters.
Warrior is a fighter. Mage is a wizard.
This is a Player Made Dungeon though called Secret of the Black Flame.
Goes through combat on the 1st floor

Picks up where the 1st video left off on the second floor.

Its good to know that you can learn the knock spell early, i will do this at lvl3.
God thx a thief seems not so important here like he is at neverwinter nights 2 (which i was playing before).
Then why not say fighter? I mean if someone calls a chicken a turkey, I probably can guess what they mean, but its still wrong... In 2nd edition warrior covered all the ugh... warriors, and that included ranger, paladin, fighter.
So to say their party consist of a paladin and a warrior (when they mean fighter) its just ignorant... So just offering up some poop for them.
As for mage, the game only has one arcane class atm, I can give them de poop, when they add sorcerer and still use mage in place of a class name.
