Local COOP?
Forgive me a silly question.
I understand that you can play online coop, but can you play coop locally on one computer?
With two controllers for example.

On PC, you'd just be stuck doing hotseat.

This is kinda what i meant, but i thought 2 ppl can control their own characters. Like there is a split screnn in BG3 and each player can control it's character with separate xbox controllrer. i hoped for something similar since i have 2 comtrollers.
Can you plz tell me how to do this correctly? Do i host private online game or create single player?

There's no local splitscreen or local network games. Unfortunately you'd have to have two copies of the game and play on two separate computers, or just do hotseat in a single-player game.

If you have a large (wide) enough monitor and RAM (32+GB?) you might be able to run 2 instances of Solasta.exe. One instance would be launched through Steam and another as a standalone app with 2 windows (not fullscreen) side-by-side on the same monitor; unless, of course, you have 2 sufficiently-sized monitors. Regardless, you still have to connect to the internet since the Photon service handles all of Solasta's multiplayer communications. I do not know anything about configuring controllers but, I imagine that, there is a way to designate which controller each instance was using.

Exactly. When someone else's turn comes up you hand them the controller/switch seats/whatever.

Ok i guess that's one way to do it. Thank you.
But imagine if there was a proper local game mode like in BG3.. in a game like this it's x10 fun multiplier.
:(

I agree; unfortunately this game was made on a short budget based on kickstarter and multiplayer came later with a lot of struggles and bugs. Larian is much better at implementing MP.

You can do two locally with no Internet if you have two PCs

Solasta uses the internet-based Photon service for hosting and joining multiplayer sessions so I doubt very much that a peer-to-peer network is going to work.

Play like my friends and family did last night. We hook a Linux or Windows PC up to a decent large TV / computer monitor in a living room, setup a card table, 4-6 seats, a few USB extension cables, a usb hub to give extra usb connections to one PC, 2-3 keyboards, 2-5 mice, place them all around the table and just play. It's very close to pen and paper table top RPG and Solasta works perfectly find with many mice and keyboards plugged into one PC with one copy of Solasta and TONS of FUN!
Remember to have great table snacks! :winter2019happyyul:
