Dungeon maker mode vs DOS 2 DM mode
Hello guys! I wanted to know what are the main differences between Solasta's dungeon maker and DOS 2's dungeon master mode. Are there things you can do in one and not in the other? which game has more creative freedom and more features within these modes, for example?
I'm undecided which game to buy and these are my favorite modes.
Thanks a lot in advance everyone!

Dungeon maker is not DM >_>

DM= tabletop "DnD" (ironically enough) ie you play with a dungeon master
Dungeon Maker = DoS 2's adventure mode or / exactly what name says a glorified arena dungeon.
(o and technically you can play DM mode also solo, but outside making "arenas" can be a bit odd of course).

But either way DoS 2 does it better in both the only slight downside is DoS2 you have 2 things both immeasurably better either its "mod maker /" dungeon " system which has more learning and or grabbing mods (while Sol is basic in comparison in both regards).

hi, thanks for the reply! so also in Dos2 there is a mode (different from the GM mode) to create dungeons and play those created by other players? I had heard about the arena mode but I didn't think that with this I could create dungeons and play the community dungeons.

Solasta's dungeon maker is significantly more limited than what can he made with D:OS2's mod tools. However, custom campaigns were never very popular in D:OS2, so there aren't really any custom campaigns of note.

For that reason, Solasta wins by default in the area of custom campaigns, despite having a more limited tool set.

I understand, thank you very much! I also had another question. if I buy solasta without buying all the dlcs, can I still have unlimited access to custom content and dungeons created by other users? in the description of the contents of the dlc they talk about supplementary objects to create your own dungeons but I don't understand if I can still access all the dunegons, including those created with the dlc contents, even if I don't own the dlc. what restrictions does not have the dlc impose on me in this respect?

Quite a few of the customer campaigns use assets from the Lost Valley DLC so that one is recommended, when you go to a campaigns page it'll tell you if you need LV or not

Now if you are in multiplayer as long as the host has a dlc you can use it also while in multiplayer, but single player you would need something if it's needed

This, lost Valley is needed for most of the good campaigns. And I'm sure in the future you'll eventually need palace of ice because of all the new monsters and tilesets it adds.

Also important to note, many campaigns (including my own) that had Frost giants require palace of ice DLC. This is a bug because frost giants come from lost Valley, but the new update added storm giants and incorrectly made the storm giants require only lost Valley and frost giants require palace of ice. I have spoken with one of the devs and they assured this will be fixed, but probably not for about a week.

So any campaign that has a frost giants requires palace of ice right now for the time being.

Case still confused

DoS 2 is immeasurably better in every way

has both a adventure mode (which is what this game has) and also a Dungeon Master mode (where 1 person has basically what equates too on screen "easy access console commands" too spawn things, edit things, add maps, go to new maps, read viginites/text boxes, etc...)
-also comes with arena but no1 cares about it and better off just using above even if want to do arena mode-

has a editor separate too game you can use where you can make everything from scratch or can use in game editor (GM/DM mode both in game with other players or separate from them--downside only being edits made in their game can't be easily carried over outside reusing the save file) along with way more and better mods (from new npcs-spells-maps-... which won't equal Neverwinter Levels, but far exceeds this one ).
