And yeah, the ending and related achievements are very buggy. I got the one for reuniting Sitenero with Orenetis when I actually killed Sitenero while on mission for the Forge.
Releasing Sitenero and taking him with you seems to be the buggiest, as you will very often just get a black screen instead of the ending if you do that.
While I mostly enjoyed Lost Valley (though it wasn't near as immersive as the original campaign), the whole working with or against the factions felt a bit tacked together and incomplete. I just don't think the game engine itself is built to handle that kind of involved conversation system. I give them kudos for trying to be more complex in interacting with factions, but the actual implementation just fell short.
Still, having some influence on the story felt better than the original campaign.
