Best element for claw barb?

Gonna do a pally rogue barb wiz play through because I always enjoy heavy melee parties. But It's been a while since I play the main campaign and havent tried the DLC yet. If you had to pick 1 mostly for the breath attack which would you choose?

It depends a lot on what campaign you are playing. Palace of Ice you will probably face fire giants a few times so that would negate that path. Overall from a resistance stand point I would guess acid would give the most mileage.
Really though the breath weapon is pretty underwhelming as an option. It is useful sometimes if you get a group situation with enemies that have low health so you can kill multiple targets. That is pretty situational though unfortunately.

Breath attack - Lightning or Acid, definitely not Poison
Resistance to an element - Fire or Cold to help against the Fireball, Cone of Cold, Freezing Sphere spells sent your way
