My island of domination is quite big in scope and if you have the unfinished business mod goes to level 20, but maybe not recommended for a beginner if you go mod less because the final quests are quite tough for level 12s.
I'd probably try the others I mention first.
Can't seem to bring them up when trying to start a new game. I can select a custom character but don't seem to be able to bring up a custom location or a campaign. Can't find any manual either (if there is one - where is it?)
I don't have any Solasta DLC either.
I'd really like to get into this - looking forward to using the editor and learning the game's ruleset (last time I played D&D was 2nd Edition.) I always DM'd and would like to learn this game well enough to create my own campaigns.
And it wasn't until the lost Valley DLC that they included dialog tree system and quest systems. So many of the good campaigns simply use it because it was available at the time, though it doesn't mean all non dlc campaigns don't have dialog and quest systems (just the ones made before the dlc released do, the dialog and quest systems are free for anyone without needing dlc, they just didn't become available until the release of lost Valley).
So you likely can't play them without the lost Valley DLC. You can usually check on the side bar in the workshop will tell you what dlc is required.
But I went to most subscribed campaigns, and interdimensional escalations does not require DLC.
I haven't played it and can't vouch for it, but the ratings and reviews claim it is good.
Try that one and see if it works for you.
It also seems like the vel campaigns don't require DLC. Vel campaigns are notoriously difficult though so maybe not best for new players.
EDITED TO ADD: Adding the DLC did the trick, Dallas. Probably gonna just go ahead and grab inner strength and Primal to complete the collection.
Any mods you'd recommend? I imagine some of them will be required too.
BTW, I've played all of @Dallas' suggested user campaigns. They've picked good ones, probably the best of the ones that are in the Workshop at the moment.
I'm starting to think that Solasta doesn't really have conventional mods and uses campaigns and single dungeon adventures that add new features are the mods?
Only the unfinished business mod is the actual mod for the game. It's a huge mod though that adds races, classes, multi classing, increases level cap etc
The Steam Workshop doesn't have the Unfinished Business mod. AFAIK, the Workshop is a convenient place to find and download user campaigns. If you want Unfinished Business, you'd need to check https://www.nexusmods.com/. Here's the mod's Github site, as well: https://github.com/SolastaMods/SolastaUnfinishedBusiness/wiki. I use the Unity Mod Manager to install and manage Unfinished Business mod. You can get that from Nexus Mods as well. But, as I said, modding Solasta isn't really necessary to play and enjoy the game.
Having said that, there are a ton of additional capabilities if you add the mod, like more races, feats, classes, subclasses, items, crafting recipes and spells. You can add multi-classing and increase the level cap to 20 (though not many existing campaigns really benefit from that.) You can also add 2 additional PCs to your party, up to 6, though I don't know what that does to the encounters where the game has added an NPC/follower to your party already. Finally, according the the mod's documentation/wiki, it also patches some bugs. If you play the game multiplayer, you'll need to pay close attention to the Multiplayer section of the wiki (as listed above). Adding the mod can make multiplayer sessions really unstable, if one doesn't follow the instructions carefully.
Also good to know Solasta is registered on Nexusmods (probably my most visited website).
