For stuff to sell to a vendor, is it better to sell to Gorim, or drop it after a battle for scavengers to get? How do you raise Gorim relationship?

Different vendors buy different stuff at different prices based on their specialty and your affiliation rating with their group. So you might want to shop around.

Faction relationship is based on what you trade on what quests you might do for them. Choose wisely since you can only get a couple to high rating where you can buy good gear from them.

For the general basic items it is best to leave it for the scavengers, that is really their function so you don't have to get loaded down with mundane items. Any magical items, potions, or scrolls I pick up. While you raise faction by selling items it is very specific items that aren't usable so it is very obvious what they are.
