There are also a few items that give the knock spell. I have only seen it in Lost Valley or custom campaigns though.
I agree though that an option to knock a door down or break a chest would be a good addition.
Eh, w/e. NWN is filled with hundreds of meaningless, boring encounters.
If you think the encounters in NWN are just like the ones in this game, then you haven't played both games. Or you're being deliberately contrarian. Either way, not worth talking to you about.
2nd level transmutation spell; should be available for wizards, sorcerers, bards. Solasta, as far as I can tell, does not implement the intended downside that it's really, really loud.
Not unheard of for vendors to offer spell scrolls of it in case you have one of those casters but want to spare the spell slots (or are level 1 or 2 and can't learn it yourself yet. A level 1 caster an attempt to use a scroll for a level 2 spell that's on his class spell list, but he needs to make a <casting stat> check against DC 12 for it to work.)
If for some reason you don't have any wizards sorcerers or bards; I suppose you could hope to find a Chime of Opening -- not class restricted, has a finite number of non-replenishing charges with which to cast Knock.
