Lost valley vendor selling prices

Two questions about the vendors in the lost valley:

1) Is there a rhyme or reason to why they give different prices when selling items? I get that reputation affects the price, but the butcher and the general store are the same faction and offer different prices.

2) Is the price they offer for items consistent? For example if the butcher offers 30% of value for one item, is it the same for all items? In other words can I assume the vendor that gives me the best price for any one item also gives the best price for all other items?

There also seems to be individual reputation along side the faction reputation. So if you do quests for the butcher he seems to give you a better discount then the others in that same faction.

I found it a lot easier to just let the Forge pick stuff up and auto sell it unless you want the option to buy it back. otherwise it can majorly clutter the vendor's inventory list. Also what Ommamar said, reputation and relationships (previous quests).

For sure you don't need to pick every little thing up that is what the forge and scavengers are for. I even use them to gather things I will want for later on if I am close to being overloaded.

I learned to also let them gather crafting materials for me. It's kinda silly, but whatever. It's fun. I enjoy it. I need to finish up this run in the Lost Valley.

I wouldn't worry overmuch about money in Lost Valley if you're playing reasonably thorough - I finished my playthru last night with well over 40k gold and really nothing to buy. Never paid attention to who I was selling to or the relative prices they were offering
