Party suggestion for Lost Valley play through.
Just completed the CoTM campaign and enjoyed it a lot.

My party was pretty OP at the end and it kind of started making the last few maps boring.

I went with:

Dwarf Paladin defender with subclass that can throw fireball. -- Tank
Human Cleric of Maraike. -- Healer and crowd control
Halfling Rogue Thief with bow and poison arrow. -- Ranged DPS and thief tool user
High-Elf Wizard -- AoE DPS, crowd control and utility.

So for Lost Valley I am looking to try something completely different.

Was thinking of:

Half-Elf Ranger with Marksman subclass as the ranged DPS and thief tool user.
Sylvan-Elf Druid as the healer.

The tank and spell casting slots are still open.

What race, class and subclass combos do you suggest for a fun party composition?

I quite enjoyed having a dex based fighter, able to frontline with a shield, but also not useless if you need ranged to hit the enemy. Works fine as a tank!
A sorcerer can be a fun caster to take the place of the wizard, just keep in mind you will need to pay for identify if you don't have someone to cast it, which is a wizard or certain cleric subclasses

Would suggest hunter or swiftblade over marksman with the ranger. Counter intuitive, I know. But all you gain with marksman, really, is step back to pull off melee range shots without disadvantage. The extra attack with a bow is a bonus action, which competes with moving hunters mark around. The 3rd attack gained by the swiftblade is a real 3rd attack that doesn't use your bonus action, and you get +2 move ramge. The hunter skips the 3rd attack to get an extra d8 damage once per round, as well as the ability to completely ignore opportunity attacks to reposition as you like, plus a bonus aoe ranged attack. Both are great choices.

If you just got the DLC I would suggest trying the barb as your tank. Dex/con focused, use str gloves starting around level 4. They get stoneskin while they rage, and path of stone gets 2x profocieny temp hp every turn. The reckless attack functions as a taunt, so there is actual aggro control built in.

I have a Snow Dwarf Shock Arcanist as my tank. Got him Sellsword and Iron Legion to fortify him with full plate, heavy crossbow, and greatsword. Being on the front line makes it easier for him to cast area spells. He can haste himself to get an extra attack.
