No Speaka Da Giant

Well, trying to do the Giant questline in the Valley, but unfortunately no one in my party speaks Giant or can use the understand languages scroll or cast the spell. I have read that there is a ring and also a helm that grant the ability to understand all languages, but I have found neither thus far. I understand they are random drops, so I guess I will have to forget about the Giants and just hope I get lucky with a drop somehow...
I wish I had known this at character creation--it would have been simple to pick Giant as one of the known languages--but with a level 5 party, it is way too late to start over.
So if you are starting the Lost Valley campaign, be sure someone in your party understands Giant-speak if you don't have a Cleric or a Wiz/Soc in your party. I have a Pally, Barb, Druid and Ranger...

If it makes you feel any better you're not actually missing much by not doing the giant quests.

Maybe I will just whack them, but how do you move that boulder blocking the entrance to the Grotto if you do? I thought you had to get a Giant to remove it for you...

I was ready to resort to violence with the Giants, but then I received a Ring of the Ambassador for completing a quest for the Rebellion. Now I am fluent in Giant, apparently...I didn't want to attack them since they were not aggressive, so now I can use the diplomatic approach...
