Which one was the most interesting, and least buggy, in your opinion?
I want my mates to have the most fun.
and actually the highest rated,
Quite different from the main campaign, harder for sure,
but by now you know what you are doing...
No crazy endgame escalation, plenty of interesting battles.
Human Variant class becomes an option,
multi-class becomes an option
if you feel like levels come too easily, you can change XP awards to 90%, 80% whatever. (Or if you think it is too hard, you can make the game award 110% XP, 125% etc)
(undead - tho I tend to avoid vamps because they're overdone these days and if I want a good vamp story I'll just run Ravenloft stuff. Strahd's my boy for vampire hijinks and shenanigans).
You can look up which Monsters are in the SRD here for example:
https://5thsrd.org/gamemaster_rules/monster_indexes/monsters_by_cr/
Anything not in that list will most likely not be included...simply because they can't.
Looks like they have most of the 'staple' undead. Still like to see more of the cool ones, and some of the more weird monsters you find in D&D but.. if they cant, they cant.
Sigh.. guess I'll have to keep my Mind Flayer story on the table top. :/
For some reason I thought this had the license for all the D&D stuff, but if it doesnt? What they've done with what they're allowed? Freaking amazing. :)
I'm ok with not having access to those oddball D&D only ones, just was surprised to find out it didnt. That is what happens when you assume, huh? :)
Ah well, been wrong before, bound to be wrong again sometime ;)
Even though Ruins of Ilthismar is number 1 on the Highest Rated of All Time list and number 2 is my Temple of Evil... Ruins of Ilthismar has never had as many downloads as fast as Temple of Evil nor did it get this many Ratings this fast.
While they are both Top Notch, Temple of Evil has turned out to be even more popular than Ruins of Ilthismar.
That said... I did just Update Ruins of Ilthismar with the new Quest and Conversation system and just finished up playtesting it all tonight. So now they can actually stand on equal footing since Ruins of Ilthismar was done before we had actual conversations while Temple of Evil was made with all the new bells and whistles of the Lost Valley Expansion.
