The silver chime gives you access to the knock spell through an item that is recharged during long rests. I am not sure about the honored stone but it would definitely be something I would identify if I found it.
This appears to me what is going on. With how the factions are set up it seems the one you side with will dictate what recipes you will have access to. You do get a ton of recipes, so far though I have only found a few per campaign that I get all the required materials for. The two campaigns I am running one co-op one solo have gotten me the ability to craft very different items. There is likely an ideal pattern to deal with the factions that opens up a lot more, if you are going through the first or even second time though it is easy to lose reputation with a faction thus shutting you out of the merchant tied to that faction. It seems when that happens it closes down some crafting options you would have had access to.
Unfortunatly not.
Had 2 complete playtroughs and one pending.
1) Went with Forge/People/Mask.
2) Went with Rebellion/People/Mask
3) Went with Dominion/Forge/Mask (Currently at taking back outposts)
No changes in recipe aviability whatsoever.
Only forge reputation give you recipes (only normal +1 ones and some leather armor).
Rebellion Faction holds recipes only for 2 crossbows
People faction - has nothing but primed mace and primed scale male. Completing 100% of their quest and other quests in the favour does not unlock anything new.
Mask Faction - offers no recipes on reputation gain and merchant holds only recipes for Poison bolts and arrows.
Dominion faction - No merchant and faction quest gives only Gold (which is another issue since no shops offer anything worthwhile to spend it).
You can get Living legend with People, Mask, Forge and Rebbelion or Dominion - before last quests somehow drop your reputation (Even if you reconsiled the factions which is another bs issue).
Secret Facility is accessible for all factions and is prelast mission (or skippable via Mask). No recipes there which cannot be obtained in merchant stalls.
These crafting issues need to be fixed.
The gold issue is also a huge problem. There are few high end items to spend money one.
Its a recipe issue in that you are not getting some of the best recipes at all. Even though you have materials for them.
Nothing says you would have to be able to get every recipe available in every campaign.
So far the issue I have seen is that I get recipes I can almost use except I am missing one component. Which is sold by the faction merchant I no longer have access to. I am sure with foresight of how things flow with the factions you would know when to buy the component before you shut the door on that faction.
The first couple times around though you are likely to do things that cause a faction to go aggressive before you realize what the repercussions will be. There is always the ability to save scrum to get the best path taken, I generally have just rolled with what happened with the idea I could come back on another play through to try to get a different result. I felt that is what TA was going for with Lost Valley.
You will get a lot of things you just cant use for crafting at all. It is worthless as gold.
I am fine with different recipes or even less. But the DLC has nerfed crafting and gold.
But you do not get the infrediens you need for the decent good stuff the Forge gives you recipies for, like the blood ruby.
If you reread again the thread, you will notice that Faction merchants offer Both Primed items and Appropiate Materials - but you are not able to get the recipe for it, neither in Faction Shops nor as Drop.
For example, You can get both Heart of Winter and Primed dagger or Primed Longsword. You can get Slave stone and Primed Battle axe or Primed Chain shirt. You can get Mithral Stone and Primed Breastplate/Halfplate/Plate and many more such materials. But you are not able to get appropiate recipe for them. Even more, those materials (Heart of Winter/Slave Stone/Mithral Stone) do not have use in other crafting recipes. And cherry on the top of the cake is that Shops sells Primed Mace/Morningstar/Greataxe and you are not even able to craft basic +1 with them.
It is fine not to acquire all recipes/materials and items. It is even fine if every campaign does not include same craftable items and unique items. What is not ok is to put these materials in shops and as scripted loot and do not give appropiate reciepes for them. Issue is not the low amount of craftable items, but the Bait and expectation that you can craft some nice items. If these materials were acquirable only via RNG, then my guess would have been that their code is not working appropiatly (since many things are bugged atm). But in any playtrough, with any faction choice you can get those materials (since they are sold by numerous merchants - Heart of winter by people and Mask merchant, Slavestone by Forge (swamp) and People merchant and so on).
Each faction Shop sells the blood ruby. But you are not able to see that blood ruby the first time. Each Faction Shop Resets and fills merchandise prior to their last quest. Which is very very funny and I stumbled upon it accidentaly.
Rebelion Faction - Has Blood Ruby from the get go.
Forge Faction (both Swamp and Jungle) - Have blood ruby when Renewal Quest starts (You do not need to talk to Hasdrubal).
People Faction - Has blood ruby when Quest Prisoners Start.
Mask Faction - No Blood Ruby.
Completing Ugly Truth (Giant Quest) rewards you one Blood Ruby.
In together you can get 5 blood rubys (It is managable to get all 5 in 1 playtrough).
Good info. thanks!
