It didn't trigger for him when it was supposed to. It did for me, but the game has been a little hinky in this version for the EA.
Since it is a known issue, with seemingly a known and repeatable cause, it should be something they can troubleshoot and fix, if they haven't fixed it already in their internal builds.

This is connected to you advancing inside the tower. Namely when the log says "climb up the stairs. After this point, the courtyard is "disabled" / Adam doesn't trigger. You can however clear parts of the first floor - you just shouldn't trigger the cutscene inside.
I had so far 4 parties, and with one I rushed up the tower. Those guys also hadn't access to the fine loot from Adam -.-. But the next group (4 clerics :D) have - in fact I'm watching Adams cutscene now ^^
