Difficulty
What difficulty should I play Solasta on?

For reference:
- I've played Pathfinder Kingmaker on Challenging
- I've played Divinity Original Sin 2 on Classic Mode
- I've Played Pillars of Eternity 2 on Veteran

I am looking for some challenge, I don't want to be completely overpowered and I don't want to quick-save and quick-load 10x for each encounter, unless it's a boss fight.

Any pointers? I am thinking Authentic, but I don't want it to be too easy, it gets really boring like POE2 if that's the case. Is Scavenger Mode doable? :)

You can fiddle with difficulty settings as you play, you're not locked into one. So if it's too easy, make it harder. That said, there are some encounters that may be significantly harder then usual. (And one that's more annoying then others due to a known issue.) Also, your choice of tactics (or lack of tactics) can have a major impact on how individual battles go. That said, only time I've had a game over was in a beginning sequence when I was only controlling one character. I've had a close call in one battle though, was down to one active character (and one of the others was dead) but managed to finish the battle and revive the dead character.

There is a way for you to personally adjust the diff. settings. Just under the difficulty selection in the game settings there is a box that says "Custom Difficulty" (or something along those lines), you can adjust all kinds of things to your desired difficulty level

I play Authentic. Works well for me as an experienced but non-tactically obsessive gamer who designs characters by "backstory" rather than for combat optimization.

You would probably be happier with something more challenging.

Start with AUTHENTIC and then adjust fire from there.

Turn on the enemy AI features. Makes the game more fun IMHO

I would equate Pathfinder: Kingmaker Challenging Difficulty to Cataclysm Difficulty in Solasta. This will hopefully change in 1.0, as I think some folks are going to want a harder run than the game can currently give.
