Identifying

Did we always need the pearls to identify items via ritual? If so I wasn't paying attention to it.
I have liquidified everything before end game and now I don't have means to identify the the last batch of items queen gives away.

If an arcane focus isn't working, you probably do. It's a material component but it's a very specific one, as compared to other spells' material components, so it's quite possible you need pearls for this ritual.

Yeah, this was not something I realized but it is part of the 5e ruleset. Usually an arcane focus fills the requirements for most material components for spells except for ones that have a gold value listed on the spell sheet. In this case you need to have a pearl to cast identify regardless of whether or not you do it as a ritual or hard-casting it as an action.
