Primed long sword ?

do someone know where to find them ? no vendor sell them and I did'nt find one......

Um... I beat the game yesterday and not once did I loot or find one for sale. Not a single one.

Which irked me because I was building my fighter as a sword and board. Ended up switching to two-handed despite lacking the appropriate fighting style.

There is no reliable source for now - I found 1 due to RNG while looting maps. And I played 4 parties so far until Copparann. So .. very rare stuff. But fortunately there are guaranteed magical long swords to at least somehow get a item progression on longsword chars.


The first one is bound to the streetkid background quest (so you need at least one character with that background to get that quest)
The second is during a questline around the first scavenger Arwin Merton

Both of this swords have to be given in in order to complete the quests. But it's up to you when you give them back ;) (just avoid talking to the final persons in the quests and you are good)

It's annoying for sure, my second 1.0 play-through hasn't turned up a LS either but I am still doing a "sword" and board fighter just with alternative weapons. There is the mace of smashing (two damage dice) , and the morning star "bear claw" that does smashing and piercing damage, those have been doing a good job me. Also there a battle axe that does hacking and peircing damage or an axe of sharpness. Those recipes can be bought from the vendor on the second location west of the main city where the library is.

I completed game 4 times & I must say, primed longswords are rarely available. Arcaneum guy does not sell it. Appears intentional.
I found only 1 primed longsword in all last 4 games.
Remember to loot during certain locations. Dark castle,during travel with kathayela, Fortress of shield these are your best options.
Primed longswords can be used to craft legendary.
1. Frostburn longsword, this does frost damage & fire elemental's bane.
2. Dragonsword: Truly the best, can be crafted after defeating most difficult enemy in game. Does fire damage, enemies take constant fire damage unless they spend action to extinguish. 1d8+2d6+ recurrent 1d4 damage. LOL
Maybe you will get lucky & find two primed longswords due to RNG!

I found the one that lets you cast spirit guardians was pretty OP because your cleric could cast a second one. Then you could huddle together while the monsters disintegrated around you. you can't use it all the time and have to save it for the tougher fights but it also gives an AC bonus. First run I was lucky enough to find two so turned the second one into a damage weapon that I could switch to after I cast the guardians bc the guardians stick around even if you don't have the sword equipped.

does anyone know if primed items can drop from random encounters? I can't remember if I ever got primed loot from random encounters. If they do It may be possible to farm them by travelling the right roads over and over.

No, my friend. Primed items are not dropped by enemies. Arcaneum contact sells every primed item except (primed) longsword.
You get best items from chest in this game. Or from factions.
Also crafted weapons are unmatched. Forget about those +2 or +3 items you see in quests because you still miss & damage is low. Dice shows you LOL

well I just finish the game dii all the side quest I could never found 1.... so at the end i just use axe....

Forget the rest people, where the hell do you get the crafting book for the Dragonsword? Who is the most difficult enemy in the game?
I've finished the game, only the once though and did every side quest except the ones which are locked behind character background choices.
I killed dragons and vampire lords and even the big bug in the temple, so who did i miss???

I got 1 primed L.Sword. Was struggling to craft 20 items for the enchantment achievement, managed to get it though. 3 items over even for 23 enchants.

Its weird that there arent more primed L.Swords though, probably chalk it up to feats with mismatched text, tome of understanding not working, additional fighting styles removing original fighting styles and other stuff thats just plain broken...

I'm really surprised that the game lets vendors sell tons of magic items but not a single one seemingly sells primed versions of every weapon/armor type.

Chain shirts are the other thing you cant get from Arcaneum contact... I had a nice crafting recipe that used chain shirt... never found one.

They do not.... nor the chain shirt even though they have most of the other armors... He is a L.Sword Chain Shirt hater, they killed his dog, and he has hated them ever since...
