How do you study tomes?

I have a Tome of Understanding (+2 Wisdom, +2 Wisdom Max) that I want my cleric to use, but there is no indication on how to do it. It says I should study it, but the only options I have with it in my inventory are Drop or Close (the popup menu). Can't equip it, can't do anything to it in the crafting menu, How do I use it?

Ug, annoying. Must be a bug. All I get is the option to drop it. I even checked with all my characters just in case. Damn, I really want those two extra points.

I can't remember where I got this one, but I know you can buy them from some of the vendors, for all the different abilities. They're really expensive. But I found a leather book at some point and carried it around for a while until I randomly used Detect Magic at one time, then I saw it was sparkly in my inventory and used Identify on it.

Can confirm, same issue. Only contextual (right-click) options are 'Drop' and 'Close'. Can't be equipped or utilized in any other way presently.

So I'd just hold onto the Tome (or put into the Stash Chest) until it's fixed.

No, you need to identify the leather book. If it says it's a Tome Of Understanding, it's identified. That obviously isn't the issue we're having (not least because I specifically said I identified the leather book in a comment a few above yours).

There are unofficial bug fixes over on Solasta Nexus. Tome of understanding is on their list of unofficial bug fixes. Not an official solution of course, but its worth knowing that there are mods on the nexus.

I sold mine immediately. You get a good chunk of gold from it, so at least I got a little benefit.
