Early access for year still cant create a waifu.
Shame.
Character portraits imo are an important part of an isometric RPG because you need to abstract a lot of stuff on these games and those do help a lot on that front. Since in this game the portraits are the 3d model's faces, it's important to make them atleast halfway decent. You don't need to have shiny graphics but atleast put some effort on the artistic side.
Age of Decadence is an example of a low budget game(way lower than solasta) with very outdated graphics(it was made on torque, a very ancient engine) made by a really small team(3-4 people iirc), but with awesome portraits that really help with the abstraction. So budget is not really an excuse here.
