A short rest is a 10 minute period of not doing much, and is useful for attunement and a few other things as mentioned. You do, however, have to gather your party together to do a rest, long or short. (Which can be an issue if one party member is unconscious, and you don't want to use healing items on them in order to do a long rest, which would heal them anyways.)
Can’t wait to give the game a good run this weekend
Kind of why I asked as it has me on the fence about game. It sounds tedious and annoying to me, along with limited classes, and it sounds like no multiclassing.
I want to add that I really enjoyed my time in the game and cant wait to play the full release this weekend. I am not a fan of the rest system but I am really enjoying the game. So its not a deal breaker, atleast for me.
I guess I prefer something kind of in the middle like other games did, where you have camping supplies, where you could rest in certain areas as long as you had those supplies. But had to be a bit choosy because you only had some much of the supplies.
Yes there is, there is an option for a fully healing during a short rest. There is also an option where food isnt required. So thats good.
I am always in favor of more options :)
Just going to note that Arcane Recovery isn't properly implemented RN, so its usefulness is severely limited.
