Caer Falcarn areas in Dungeon Maker

I have been playing the Caer Falcarn dungeons that TA created in the Dungeon Maker. I started a new group (all at character level 1) starting with 01 Caer Falcarn (Mines). I seamlessly transitioned from 01 Caer Falcarn (Mines) to 02B Caer Falcarn (Mines), then into a mansion, and then to 03 Caer Falcarn (Necropolis). I am in 03 Caer Falcarn (Necropolis) according to my saves, and I am now in the "Upper Necropolis" area. I know that I have to get to a "Lower Necropolis" area.

I have explored all areas thoroughly, and have come to a door in the Upper Necropolis with a lootable container on the left. The very first time that I looted this container, I got a message that said something like this, "Here is the silver key to the Lower Necropolis. Don't lose it again, Ygrain". I then clicked on the door and got the message, "Door cannot be opened". I can see an unexplored area (fog of war is still shrouding it to some extent) with a blue entrance/exit field just a little way on the other side of this door.

I have explored some more once again just to make sure I had not missed something (some button to push or secret entrance), but I still cannot find any way to get through this door or into this area to access the entrance/exit field.

I am at a loss as to how to continue. Is there a way to get into this area, or is this a bug, or do I have to end this run here and level up my characters in the character section and then start the 03 Caer Falcarn (Necropolis) dungeon from the Dungeon Maker to continue? Any help would be appreciated.

You could use the level up method in the character creator but if I am recalling correctly and have the area right go into cautious mode and look around where you saw the message. It isn't apparent and alt won't show it until your party "finds" it.

Based on your comment, I have wandered all around that area again in cautious mode, but did not find anything and am still not able to get into the area past the door. I even got as close as I could to that area from two different sides and tried to see if casting misty step would get me there, but the grid did not go into that area at all.

If it is the area I am thinking of I found the key in a hidden container I had to use the cautious search function for I am just trying to remember if it was before or after I read the message about not losing the key. Also a chance things have glitched out and it didn't load the key for some reason, can you post screen shots of exactly where you are on the map?

That may be the level with a hole crawl-through that's hard to spot. I have gotten past that door but don't remember 100% how. If I remember correctly that door cannot be opened from this side.

it might be that module is good but it does have some hard to spot paths you have to find, I usually don't, I just click on the area I want to go and at least one of my members finds the path for me. Of course when I get no path available message I let out an inner groan that sometimes isn't so inner.

Thanks for the comments, everyone. Still no luck finding a way in. Here is a screenshot of the map showing where my party is.

Below my party, you can see the symbol for the locked door. Just to the right of that is the place where I got the message about the silver key the very first time I looted it. I do not have any key in my inventory on any of my characters, so if I should have one, then maybe something has glitched out. To the right of that container, you can see the black square with the two torches, which I assume is the entrance to the Lower Necropolis. Any further suggestions on how to resolve this would be appreciated.

The crypt in the spider's lair with the message about the silver key is a two square loot container.
The left container is where the message is and the right container holds the key and a magnificent shield.

Thank you very much for your comment! I gave up on that playthrough ages ago, but now I might start up a new one of that area again, as the information you gave me should help me progress through the area.

better later then never, but that you have to get in through a different 'secret' entrance to the lower necropolis, that one starts 1 room next to that door, then you can come out through that door
