I need food but vendors doesn't have enough in stock. Any ideas?
I need about 24 units of food for a long trip but no one have this amount to sell, and I don't have a ranger to gather it during my travel, so I'm stuck and don't know how to solve this mistery. Does anyone had this problem as well? Any hints to solve this? BTW I'm in love with this game and simply can't play bg3 anymore until I finish this.

I survived an 11-day overland trip into the Badlands starting with only 1 Ration and no Ranger (or anyone with a high Survival skill) so, if you cannot buy any Rations or cast Goodberry, just go for it anyway. Hopefully, this will be addressed in a future patch.

Maybe take the shortest trip available and go right back to town where shops should restock.

I have gone back and forth from the main city to the outpost, moving at fast speed.

I had 27 rations to get to the gem quest (with a Ranger) and I got there with one ration. So far I haven't found stores during missions, so I guess I need to grind more rations before trying to get there are with enough rations to get back.

On the opposite side of that, I have a couple that are proficient in survival and end up with extra rations going slow on trips. It does vary though.

You ll have rations inside the castle when your cleric gets lev 5 and casts create food.

I rested at the inn and it restocked rations

Thanks guys. I went to the outpost with only courage inside the stomach of my characters and I found the castle, fought the skeletons, and I ended up with no food to rest and venture forth. I decided to went all the way back to the city, found some food on the way, but still no food to shop when I get there...

Well I'll just keep trying... it's a little bit frustrating that I must rely on luck at this point of the game but even with all this I'm loving everything here. My cleric is currently at level 4 and I will try to grind it to level 5 and get the spell to create food.

rangers are no the only ways to gather food . Yes hunting food. But sometimes they will forage for food I distincly rember characters finding food like apples. The survival skill helps.

I am almost always selling food at the market, because it is too heavy and my groups seem to forage more than they can eat

EDIT: Ran my 1st party w/o a Ranger...ran out of food. Mandting that the frontline combatant slot be occupied by a Rgr, makes one uestion why bother with a Pally or Ftr?

I had this problem too. I think the Inn should sell rations, essentially Inf+ in stock replenished on rest. That way you can always buy what you need and not have to worry about antything but encumberance.

Goodberry normally gives 8 rations. If you can cast it, or find a scroll of it. They are permanent rations, 8 per casting.

I had a bug where on the trip to the Bone Tower more rations were used than the expected 40 in a 10 day trip. Rations really should be unlimited from vendors since they are just a money sink to travel as opposed to a buff. Plus, they are very expensive for low-level characters to buy in bulk.

Makes having Survival or Create Food useful considering the expense. But it is an oversight to not have enough food on the vendors for long trips.

Exactly where I ran into the issue as well. It wasn't a matter of money (I had plenty by that point) but a matter of supply.

Strangely enough, I can't even do a quest where you're supposed to buy food before leaving the starter area. It says to go to a vendor (Idr the name) but they only have weapons...

You're at the wrong vendor, then. There are several.
