If you’re playing a game and only using 50% GPU you’re either playing aN old game, like BG2, you have the graphics lower than your GPU can handle, or you’re bottle necked somewhere. Suppose for this EA it could be on the games end, but 100% isn’t alarming on its own...
no you don't know what you are talking about. The game, as it looks now, should not be using 100% of your GPU. I can run skyrim or say satisfactory, or most modern games at 1080p with my nvidia 3060ti and not max my gpu. Those games look amazing at 1080 max settings and don't use 100% of my gpu. This game looks like it came from 2010 and should not be maxing a 3060ti in any way shape or form. I got skyrim running in 4k with 4k textures and doesn't max my gpu. You do not know what you are talking about.
The way this game looks...skyrim looks 10x better, is much older, and runs MUCH better. This game, the way it looks, should not be using 100% of my 3060ti in any way shape or form. This game is horribly optimized.
this is wrong completely. if you can run skyrim in 4k textures on a 3060ti and not max your gpu but run this game and it is in high settings and using my 3060ti to the max then the game is horribly optimized. It is doing something wrong. I have 60fps cap via nvidia control panel and it still runs the gpu 100%. This is not good. a badly optimized game will run your gpu 100% even though it looks like the game came from 2010 which is exactly what is happening now. Skyrim will have countless shapes on screen with textures and this game has little to none and still runs your gpu 100%. You are incorrect. So are the others. If the game looked like crysis then yes I would say it fits the amount of gpu usage. Skyrim looks infinitely better, is much older game, and solasta runs the gpu harder so something is optimized.
It's Unity...Indie games usually run like crap on this engine. I heard, it's hard to optimize games on it.
Your comparison to Skyrim is not fair, though. Skyrim was made by 100+ professionals with like 100 times bigger budget, on the Engine they worked since 2002. Solasta was made by 10-20 inexperienced devs.
Cap your FPS to 60 (or even 30; this is not action game) and give Solasta a chance.
If you're not CPU bottlenecked and don't set an fps cap (or turn on VSync), GPU usage is going to be 100% in any game. I can make you a spinning cube, and that'll use 100% of your GPU (and probably run at 10k fps).
If that temp reading is correct, you have a severe problem with your cooling or you need to repaste your GPU (thermal paste degrades with time).
