If you mean the ones later on with the pillars, I wasn't able to get one of those in my first game until I came back much later. (And I had to use Dimension Door to get to the bridge, which was rotated the wrong way.) In my second party and I think my current party I was able to loot them the first time around thanks to using the jump spell on my strongest character, I think. (Not the char with the highest dex, which is probably what I tried the first time.)
I found out at the tower with the major gate, where the undead hide in the ruins around. One of the ruins can be entered only by jumping and the cleric and fighter could cross the 3 cells, but the rogue and wizard (both high DEX) could not.
