Pillars of Eternity 1 and 2.
Something that is very close to DnD, thanks to common roots:
Pathfinder Kingmaker
They are all long, meaty games with lots of different character builds and choices.
Still, out of everything I've seen, Solasta seems to be closest to tabletop so far, even if there are some differences.
Games that actually are based on a D&D styled engine:
Dragon Age: Origins
Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2
Baldur's Gate EE
Neverwinter Nights EE
Shadowrun: Dragonfall
Does Xcom count?
I have not played Planescape: Torment, but I want to.
But many other games would never have existed if it wasn't for D&D, but don't really play like a D&D game:
The Elder Scrolls (series) I've played Morrowind, Oblivion & Skyrim
Mass Effect
Jade Empire
Dark Souls
Cyberpunk 2077
But of all of these games I have played, Solasta is the only game I can say for sure that has stuck close to all the rules in the edition it is based on. All of the rest of them make BIG changes.
I haven't actually played AD&D, so I'm not sure how many differences there are between it and Baldur's Gate.
Neverwinter Nights is based on 3.5e, and is very different to how 3.5e actually works.
I haven't played the table-top Shadowrun, but I know how it works, and none of the Shadowrun games I've played ever bothered actually utilizing its d6 system. Just the karma points.
Obviously none of us have gotten to play Cyberpunk 2077 yet, but I have played Cyberpunk 2020. It's a d10 based system, and very lethal. Don't get into fights if you want your character to last a long time. I'm hoping the video game's hardcore mode will be just as brutal.
It's not the best mechanics wise but the story is beyond my capacity to explain it in English and do it any justice.
Battle brothers is kinda D&D like as well?
It's a shame they didn't use that game's UI and ruleset as the basis for a series.
Pathfinder Kingmaker, with the turn-based mod, is very good.
