Moved on to Shadows of New York, but this game has the same problem.
Now I tried to install Shadows of New York on another devices (my laptop) and here everything's working fine. I've got no idea why the backgrounds aren't showing on my 20x as powerful gaming PC. I didn't do anything different. Maybe it's some sort of setting in Windows, or a driver.
The only difference that comes to mind is that my graphic driver on my laptop is a little more outdated (whoops lol), plus that the game is installed on the same drive as the windows installation on my laptop, compared to on a secondary ssd on my PC.
I've read somewhere before on another community post about someone getting a black screen with only sounds, that the problem had something to do with Windows Media Services. Which, I'm assuming at least, is installed on the windows installation drive. I'll do a quick check on my PC, since the game isn't too big in size.
Update: yeah so that didn't do it lol
I'll play on my laptop for now I guess, if anyone has any ideas on what could be different I could check, but I myself dunno
Still I'll be looking forward to finding out 'the mystery' of this annoying bug.
