Most popular? I guess Trickster Rogue ("Wah wah OP!") and Hunter Ranger ("Ooo shiny and new!")
Most needed? I guess Guardian Fighter (Maybe, as Tank), and Devoted Cleric (Heals!!!!!!)
Control Wizard is somewhere in the middle, as far as I can tell so far. Helpful in a group but not necessarily needed.
Great Weapon Fighter can also pull its weight but many complain (I think still?) about it being underpowered, but if you're into DPS melee warrior types, still go for it.
Ok, I was only going off of launch :)
Good to know, ty.
But GWF's are def a lot better now, and I really like the ranger which is probably the best PvP class and is plenty good in PvE too.
In PVP the only class that I have seen to not really be able to hold its own is the Guardian Fighter, sure they soak up damage but they dont dish out enough to be much of a threat.
Rogues are a terrible pain in the rear and I have been 1shotted by them on more than one occasion, they are also very good at stunlocking people.
But honestly I think a well played Great Weapon Fighter may be the strongest PVP class. They get an ability (that is powered up by being attacked) that lets them Hulk-Out. They get stronger, seem to take less damage, gain a boat load of temporary hitpoints, and become immune to crowd control (roots, stuns etc). They can be almost unkillable in a 1v1 against any other class.
I play a Ranger as my main and love it. Very well balanced. I have a lot of options for AOE damage or single target damage, several roots for crowd control, and can make good use of critical hits. The downside is I dont have much damage mitigation or hit points, and no stuns.
