Neverwinter
So how "free to play" is this game?
Is it the typical mmo where it's so called f2p until you start finding extreme limitations and then they ask for a fee to play the entire game or do you get to play the entire game for free entirely? Just wondering before I download the game.

Does sound useful so I downloaded the app for when I get more in to the game which will definitely come in handy. Do appreciate the info about that and the above comments. I been interested in this game but didn't get to it because I had no idea how far I would get with out having to pay money which I don't mind later on but i don't wanna be forced to do so on a f2p game.
you can make millions on this game without ever spending any of your real money just by doing your dailies when the event is active you can always see what event is up by looking to your hud and see it on screen. doing D&D events skirmishes the only problem with this is getting the money after doing the event in upwards of 80k a day because of the system you have to refine and you can only do 23,000 a day i believe. I played this game before it was available on steam when it was in early beta and did every quest to level 60. now i have 5 level 60 toons with epic gear because I spent so much time doing D&D events. I refined all my level 4 enchantments some to level 8 most of my toons are wearing level 7. now I have spent money on the game because I wanted a Sylvan Stag mount and they were 2 million astral diamonds in the market at that time when the feywild lock boxes were out so I bought keys and got my mount and was able to sell the other items or use them most of them I kept. this game is a lot of fun without having to spend money if you get in with a good guild who will help you run dung events to get your specific gear you need. I highly recommend following a guide to make your toon because even with the right gear if your toon isn't done right you won't be as effective if it were done rightand then you will have to buy a retraining token to make it right. you can find these guides by googling neverwinter build for your specific toon. (neverwinter best builds and strategy guides) try and look for builds that have been updated because ones that haven't been updated are stuck behind Ice wind Dale updates. I played this game almost 1 year without spending any real money and have some very epic equipment grinding the d&d events is a must with a good guild who will take you through and help you and if something very expensive drops they split it with you. when the artifact shard of valindra's crown dropped a few times when it was worth 10 million it was split 5 ways between members of the team. I have had this drop 10 times doing this dung and have probably done this dung well over 500 times. add me in the game im willing to help you in a dung event I have a great guild that helps everyone run through to get their epic gear they are called True DragonBlood in game you can find me Lucifer or Trolling Thunder @charleytank64 I sometimes play this through steam when I want to capture screenshots. but normally launch it off my desktop without arc or steam because of lag. Neverwinter is probably one of my most favorite games and I do play it daily and do dailies everyday. the idea of having to spend money to be able to play this game like it was intended is crap however if you wanted to spend money and buy keys you could make millions that way to buy selling all of the items you get out of the lockboxes and buying your epic gear instead of working hard to get it. also don't ever buy astral diamonds from an online site a few of my friends did they bought 10 or 20 million from sites and 2 of them got their accounts hacked over and over after that and then they got their accounts banned from neverwinter. it's a lot of work to get your toon to level 60 but it can be done easily in 3 to 4 days of hard grinding. working for the things you want takes time and if your willing to put in the time. neverwinter will be a fun game for you where you have the same experience as i have through hard work comes rewards.

Thanks for the information, definitely appreciate the time you took to type that out. I have been enjoying the game more than I thought I would have. I actually played a moment when it was first came out but saw tons of comments on how it was p2win so I just got rid of it but with it coming to the xbox one and that means free achievements for me I figuered I would play it now and learn some stuff before hand. But it turns out I began enjoying it a lot more than just testing the water out. I do like the gateway feature very much and see tons of diamonds coming in from selling blue gear and higher plus I am enjoying the game play a lot too. I have been learning more and more about the game as I keep playing it and then using google for information i need. Someone previously mentioned about the gateway and it being mobile so that really helped a lot. I guess it was a good idea I posted this because with information like you posted and others I got to finally playing it. I clearly don't mind spending money on a f2p game in time like I have done with LoL.. Can't even stop buying cards for skins on that game, lol, but I also I wanted to be sure this wasn't like a dcu online where you HAD to buy content to progress. Yeah I never spend money for in game currency from any site or gold seller. I am definitely one of those people that rather work for every item I earn in all of my games. I will probably look for guilds much later on when I get higher in levels to do the harder content but yeah you can add me any on time on steam. At the moment I am reading about the new content raising the level cap so it defintiely looks like I do got lots to enjoy and play.
You are welcome. =) Good to read that you have so much fun with Neverwinter.
your welcome. good things come to those who work hard. i did add you on steam.

Had a feeling I would of liked it when I first tried it but left too soon after hearing the pay to win stuff but at least i did get to it now. Although I wish this account would travel to my xbox one so I wouldn't have to start all over again, lol.

Yeah, the front page is a little bit misleading, since it shows a ton of negative reviews, even though the game is currently "Very Positive." People just see the most "helpful" reviews and they get the impression that it's p2w and unpopular, even though it's clearly a minority of people that are saying that.

Hmm sounds more like a pay to win kind of game then. I don't mind grinding out stuff but not gonna get forced to pay for upgrades so I can perform better.

"but to improve the armor, weapons, etc., will have to pay" I think this is wrong. I'm at max level and did not pay a cent and I have best equipment. I would say it's more like "pay to not-spend-many-time-in-playing"... some kind of that. You can get everything with ingame-money, which you can earn by playing. But that's what you have to do - spend time to play. For some few items you have to spend some a lot more time(like you said, "grinding out stuff"). But you are never forced to buy something to progress further in the game. You can get every item(armor, sword, mount, ...) by playing. And the game is a lot with fighting, there is a little bit crafting too. But it's a lot fighting - if you don't want fight often, then this is nothing for you.

So...If you like fantasy-stuff and fighting-based games, you can give it a try. If you are more in crafting stuff or peacefull exploring, this is not often in this game.

Yes, same here, the only thing I have ever spent money on was more character slots. Other than that the grind isn't any worse than any P2P mmo's and the combat is way better than most right now. You can even easily afford mounts, though not quite as easily as something like WoW.

Overall it is a good game if you like DnD and good combat. The combat is so refined to a point I have pulled off some crazy stuff almost worthy of being in the same league as my tabletop adventures. I would say 4th edition makes a much better video game than a pen and paper RPG.
PvP is absolutely pay to win, but if you just like doing dungeons with your friends and what not this game is amazing. Unless you spend at least 50$ on items for the game you will get obliterated in PvP every time. But like i said, if you like dungeons and co-op you'll really like this.

pvp is not pay to win lmao with hard work comes rewards. you need to buy your pvp gear just like i had to do by getting the glory and buying it. you can't spend 50 or even 1,000 dollars and go buy your epic pvp gear because you can only buy it with glory you have earned in pvp. and one more thing if you just started pvp at level 60 and your not wearing any pvp gear yeah you will get creamed in pvp everytime. your best bet is to start pvp as soon as you can and start getting the glory to get your pvp gear. don't wait till your level 60 start at the lowest level when your toon is low level and can cream every other toon. you cannot purchase pvp items with real money you can only get these items inside the training room where the pvp gear is sold and you can only buy it with glory you have earned through pvp.
Interesting enough fact (not really to influence, but just a joke about the economy I suppose.)

The dragonborn pack available which costs 75$ to purchase includes a special dragon-kin type race. However, people can sell this item. The funny thing is that it sells for 15,000,000 million gems. Keep in mind in this game you normally get ROUGH gems, that you can refine into astral gems. This is free, HOWEVER you can only refine 24,000 a day. If you did manage to grind that full amount every day it would take you 625 days to purchase that single race token on the gem auction house.

Alternatively you can buy Zen, and then turn the zen into diamonds. 1 zen = 480 astral diamond roughly. So to get 15,000,000 diamonds you would need 31,250 zen. As far as I know the only way to attain zen is to purchase it for real money. This can then be used to buy special mounts and such on the Zen store, or exchange for diamonds. Arc offers 20,000 zen for 200$. If you wanted to grind that single race token it would take you almost 2 years. And the market price is off, since you can buy the full pack for 75$, yet the equivalent zen --> gem conversion marks it up almost 4 times.

That was just a little fact. I love this game. Don't take this as an end all be all example, the dragon race token is obviously pretty coveted since for someone to sell it means they basically paid 75$ for an "expansion" pack and are selling the main item for in-game currency.

Well I never did play DnD the table top but this game so far I am enjoying it a lot the more I keep playing and discovering new things. The combat is fun and I keep seeing comments that sound good about being able to earn everything through in game. Definitely wish I got to it sooner.

actually when you buy stuff on the auction house the money is transfered into your inventory and you don't refine any of it. you can purchase a lot of things that is tradable or sellable there is only a few items that is BOP (bind on pickup) Also you can go to the zen trade market and trade astral diamonds for zen. I used to trade on the zen market everyday when zen wasn't so expensive.
does anyone know about praying everyday and what you get from it? I have aquired the angel of protection on 5 level 60 characters. So when you pray or invocation as they call it on Neverwinter ( or invoking the gods ) it gives you a 15 minute damage bonus and in some cases rough astral diamonds you can refine. once a day it will give you a celestial coin and an ardent coin in which you can spend in the vault of piety but if your saving up like I did for 365 days you will get an angel of protection compannion. but another thing I like to do is save them till i have 7 and open the vault of piety and in celestial synergy you have a chance to win a Coalescent ward. now these are what you need to make your weapon enhancement slot or a soulforged or you can use them for a few other things. these coalescent wards cost on the average of 400,000 to 500,000 astral diamonds but you can get them for free by praying everyday. it's not the video I want to show you it's the last 10 seconds of the video where I was awarded a coalescent ward for simply praying. I used this coalescent ward to make another lesser vorpal and upgraded my lesser to a vorpal.
