Thanks for the information, definitely appreciate the time you took to type that out. I have been enjoying the game more than I thought I would have. I actually played a moment when it was first came out but saw tons of comments on how it was p2win so I just got rid of it but with it coming to the xbox one and that means free achievements for me I figuered I would play it now and learn some stuff before hand. But it turns out I began enjoying it a lot more than just testing the water out. I do like the gateway feature very much and see tons of diamonds coming in from selling blue gear and higher plus I am enjoying the game play a lot too. I have been learning more and more about the game as I keep playing it and then using google for information i need. Someone previously mentioned about the gateway and it being mobile so that really helped a lot. I guess it was a good idea I posted this because with information like you posted and others I got to finally playing it. I clearly don't mind spending money on a f2p game in time like I have done with LoL.. Can't even stop buying cards for skins on that game, lol, but I also I wanted to be sure this wasn't like a dcu online where you HAD to buy content to progress. Yeah I never spend money for in game currency from any site or gold seller. I am definitely one of those people that rather work for every item I earn in all of my games. I will probably look for guilds much later on when I get higher in levels to do the harder content but yeah you can add me any on time on steam. At the moment I am reading about the new content raising the level cap so it defintiely looks like I do got lots to enjoy and play.
Had a feeling I would of liked it when I first tried it but left too soon after hearing the pay to win stuff but at least i did get to it now. Although I wish this account would travel to my xbox one so I wouldn't have to start all over again, lol.
Accepted you. :)
Yes, same here, the only thing I have ever spent money on was more character slots. Other than that the grind isn't any worse than any P2P mmo's and the combat is way better than most right now. You can even easily afford mounts, though not quite as easily as something like WoW.
Overall it is a good game if you like DnD and good combat. The combat is so refined to a point I have pulled off some crazy stuff almost worthy of being in the same league as my tabletop adventures. I would say 4th edition makes a much better video game than a pen and paper RPG.
The dragonborn pack available which costs 75$ to purchase includes a special dragon-kin type race. However, people can sell this item. The funny thing is that it sells for 15,000,000 million gems. Keep in mind in this game you normally get ROUGH gems, that you can refine into astral gems. This is free, HOWEVER you can only refine 24,000 a day. If you did manage to grind that full amount every day it would take you 625 days to purchase that single race token on the gem auction house.
Alternatively you can buy Zen, and then turn the zen into diamonds. 1 zen = 480 astral diamond roughly. So to get 15,000,000 diamonds you would need 31,250 zen. As far as I know the only way to attain zen is to purchase it for real money. This can then be used to buy special mounts and such on the Zen store, or exchange for diamonds. Arc offers 20,000 zen for 200$. If you wanted to grind that single race token it would take you almost 2 years. And the market price is off, since you can buy the full pack for 75$, yet the equivalent zen --> gem conversion marks it up almost 4 times.
That was just a little fact. I love this game. Don't take this as an end all be all example, the dragon race token is obviously pretty coveted since for someone to sell it means they basically paid 75$ for an "expansion" pack and are selling the main item for in-game currency.
Well I never did play DnD the table top but this game so far I am enjoying it a lot the more I keep playing and discovering new things. The combat is fun and I keep seeing comments that sound good about being able to earn everything through in game. Definitely wish I got to it sooner.
