Just go for it man, 10 lvls is nothing.
That being said there are a few thing to know up front. Rangers in general do more damage with their at wills than their encounter powers. Many of your encounter powers will be lackluster with regards to dps. Your daily powers are also more about utility than damage. Your capstone feat from the combat line WILL give you an insane damage boost, the downside is that untill you get it you won't feel amazing.
Not using the ranged portion of your powers will handicap you. There is no reason not to use these as switching stances is instantaneous with no cooldown. Of course you can do it and will be able to clear all of the content in the game. You just make it harder on yourself for no reason.
