It is one thing to state your opionion in a regular manner, but a complete other thing to insult other players and even mods, and then end up with a time out.
Anyway, on topic. Take any given MMO out there, if you want to reach "endgame" you have to put in the time, or in some cases if possible, you can take shortcuts through spending money.
It's your choice.
Like it was your choice to spend money in STO... and as long as you have fun playing a game, what is the harm in spending some money on some usefull (here in NWO, i would suggest character and shared bank slots, or an account mount...) items?
In the end, the real "problem" is, that some player want everything right that instant they jump into a game... and such an attitude in a F2P MMO can become quite costly.
But as mentioned above, that's your own choice.
I'm used to that since I visit 8chan on a regular basis so I kinda overlooked that lol.
only thing available for cash are skins, mounts, bags and some companions.
For instance if you want a vorpal enchantment, or really any enchantment for your weapon/armor, you can look forward to grinding for years or you can just straight up buy one from the auction house. These armor and weapon enchantments are immensely powerful and if you walk into PvP without one you are wasting your time.
End game is almost entirely single player as you must grind for a month, minimum, in order to unlock more power for your character and dungeons themselves by doing tons of daily quests. Also you should choose wisely on your character class since if you roll more than one you've just screwed yourself long term by splitting your oh-so-valuable grinding time.
The game is super, super easy up until you hit max level. Then, all the grind and super-slow progression pop out of the woodwork. For a F2P title this one isn't the worst but ultimately it demands your money or your life. Be prepared to spend one or the other, and a lot of it, to get anywhere at all.
not even close
there are normal enchantments that are not all that less powerfull. plus, you can get the same enchantments you get from the ZEN shop from the weekly invocation chest
Endgame is like World of warcraft. You do dungeons - you get more gear. That way you can enter even more difficult dungeons to get even better gear. It has nothing to do with P2W. Also - if you don't want to do dungeons (which is basically the point of games like this) you can buy most of the same quality gear on the AH for 20-50k ADs a piece. If you take into consideration you can get 20ish k ADs per day from refinement only - you can easily get a full set in a week :)
If you played WoW, you know sometimes it would take you weeks and months to get a single item in WoW raids. When it comes to gear - NW is easy.
In other words - once you hit lv60, you get tons of new content called "Campaigns". Each campaign has a main story + tons of different daily quests you can do each day to progress in the campaign which gives you more gear, more boons, more weapons, more new zones and quests.
I personally find it a nice way of endgame progressions. MUCH better than let's say WoW which comes down to running HC dungeons over and over again with half-braindead people
Till level 70 though i really enjoyed the game on my two characters
Dont get me wrong...the journey to 60 is very good...and fun. And if the rest of the game (endgame) was as fun as the road to 60...it would be an amazing game...but after 60 it just breaks down...and becomes a grind or pay fest...remember, time is an extremely expensive commodity, and the game after 60 is just not worth it as the fun just disappears... it just becomes an insane mindblowing grind fest that lasts until you get tired of the game and leave. I believe that it is not worth joining this game in its current state. And knowing the company behind the game from previous games...it will not change.
@ Skipp. your comparison of WoW and NWO is slightly...lightyears off the mark. WoW had something NWO does not...inovation, exploration and FUN (The dungeons and their mechanics in NWO is just way below average). Just look at the official NWO forum and all the bad rep the game is getting there...on their own forum. The mods there are doing mass post "deletes" like there is no tomorrow...just to keep new players from seeing all the problems the game has...and there are a lot. If you want to, we could have a discussion about the time a CASUAL player would need in order to get ALL his equipment/artifacts up to max lvl...but you know the answer. You need to invest such an immense amount of time that it becomes a chore...and that is the problem. Way to much chore/grind in relation to the amount of fun there is.
Make your own choice, but I would advice you to just move along.
This is only my opinion. I'm lvl 70 and have been playing for 1 1/2 years, my journey has ended. One more thing...this game has unfortunately nothing to do with D&D
Besides, now is a good time to start NWO from the start, since nearly every player has to level and gear up again. And with the 2x experience event still running, add 3x Azure echantments to your gear, and you will level up really quick.
Just keep in mind, there will be a new module at some point in the future, and there will be new gear there too...
So, upgrade your gear to a level you feel comfortable with, and then just play the game for your own fun.
Again, what's the point in playing a game, if you don't have fun?
About WoW...
the last time i checked, they simplified nearly every class ingame. and the same goes for dungeons or even raids.
the expansions are still overpriced, and also offers only more grind to get better gear, to grind even more to get even better gear... sounds familiar?
well, that's the MMO never ending story.
and please do try to voice critique on the WoW forums and see where it will take you there. i voiced critique about a new feature once several years ago, and i got banned right away for a week.
and don't forget, they "revamped" or rather recycled old content there too, but hey, that's innovative from Activision/Blizzard, but it's something complete different, if it happens somewhere else...
they make a ton of money with WoW, but they also wait out server problems due to population peaks during new expansions... and btw. when was the last time, you have seen a free day for server problems in WoW?
i think the last time for any free day was, when Activision took over Blizzard...
and about bots... the goldseller spam in NWO is bad, but when you see dead corpses in a WoW city forming up a goldseller website name, you know, that something is really wrong.
or how about the farm bots, that gather resources just below the surface of the maps, and teleport from node to node?
and that even works for them in WoW PvP areas. now imagine for a moment, they would use that tactic to farm points for PvP...
I played WoW from classic up to WotLk, and the grass ain't that much greener on the other side of the fence.
