It's an action rpg, meaning that you will have to dodge and manuver for combat (I too hate tab targeting). Each class handles dodging differently, and to different effects. Each class even has the ability to solo content to varying degrees of effectivness/ease. Though the Guardian Fighter, which I still very much enjoy, seems a little wonky with it's shield mechanic at times.
Unlike DC univers, the combat feels much more impactful. While at the same time it doesn't have an over abundance of powers, each one feels so far useful to some degree and situation. The Feat system is...standard I suppose and i've only broken level 10 with two characters (you only get 2 slots by defult); overall I feel much more drawn in to this world then I ever did in DC online.
Each character is fun in their own way, and each feels like a potential badass. Which one suits your playstyle will be a matter of trying them out. So far my two favorites are the cleric and the shield fighter, and after only a few days I'm already considering sinking money into the game. Which for me is a major endorsment.
So in short, not a tab targeting game and an action RPG like DC online, only better. I highly reccommend giving it a try. :)
