but thats the thing, rarely its not one player that "just gets hacked" (unless your pass is pretty simple and you pissed someone off ingame )
Usually when it’s something like this (one person’s items are sent to another player) then it was probably by someone you *know*
sidenote: doesn't the game tell you who "forced" you to buy the lockbox from?
My password its not simple, and I dont pissed someone off ingame...
And my ingame friends are all mature persons, we know each others for more than 10 years (from playing another games) and no one knows my password.
And yes, I have the account name of the guy that sell the lockbox, sent his account name for the support, but got no reply so far...
But the point is:
This is the first game that something like that happen to me, I already play a lot of MMORPG's and have a few old accounts with very silly passwords and do not got hacked in the past. Again: "My Password is not simple and no one knows my password".
This guy (kid) got my account info inside the game somehow, that is the problem here and if happens to me can happen to others as well.
Quite untrue, actually. My World of Warcraft account got hacked some years back, and the guild I was in told me I was a gold spammer. Everything I owned was sold for gold. I use a seperate password for every game / account/ etc... This does happen.
Long story short, you shouldnt have bought that power leveling service and handy auto quester from the chinese, Youre an idiot
And for those who cant read, here we go:
-My account was hacked from inside the game somehow;
-Did not gave my password away;
-My password was (and its not) not easy;
-Got no response from the support so far;
-I did not disable the account guard;
-All I did was writing here, so other people dont be surprise when this happen to them;
SO PLEASE, IF YOU DONT HAVE NOTHING GOOD TO SAY, DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!
Don't know what brought it to mind here...
Unless you've found how you were hacked, be smart about it. Clean your computer up of virus as best you can.
It's important for people to know that, to access your game account a hacker does not need to know your pass, only how to access your email account. It's my belief given your explaination, that your email account was most likely what was hacked, probably followed by a password reset of your PWE account.
PWE is notoriously bad at respecting customers beyond what is expected of a corporation. Meaning, because you(your email that is) verified another computer to access your account, you are at fault for allowing someone else to access your account. PWE made an attempt to contact you via email regarding access to your game account, as far as they are concered they hold no liability and will treat the situation as if you personally allowed this person to access your account. PW isn't an American company, don't expect them to act like one.
An easy tip I can give to people to avoid email hacks is how to avoid a very old and time tested method to access people's emails. Use a unique password for your email address.
