''Strongholds'' Solo Friendly?
Ok, I love joining Guilds and doing stuff together like questing and so on just as much as anyone else lol :P

But nowadays I get very limited amount of time for gaming, and I dont have the hours to invest into games like I used to. Which also makes grouping/socializing aspect of the MMO's more difficult to me (in my personal experience).

That's why im asking this; Is there anything for the solo players in the Stronghold Expansion?
What I mean is; Do I get to enjoy the stronghold content like building up my own castle (and perhaps populating it with some npcs) WITHOUT having to join a Guild etcatera?

Thx for answers:)

no lol and you would get years to achieve something alone. But there is a lot of soloable content within the stronghold. To access although you need to join a guild but whatever you will do in the game you will find things to help with the stronghold and see it been built little by little. In protector enclave just state that you are a casual player seeking a guild 8-)

You can create your own guild with the help of 4 other players,
run through your Stronghold map,
kill a few mob groups,
may be even try some heroic encounters,
but you won't get far in building and upgrading your private Stronghold.

Even small to medium size guild will have their trouble with getting enough resources to get the Stronghold rebuild. Overall the Stronghold module is about big guilds and group content.

If you want to participate in that, i suggest to look into the official NWO forums

and try finding a fitting guild.

I'm in a similar position to the OP so there's nothing in the module for me. Mod8 looks more interesting though.

Honestly, you don't need to be some super active member of a guild to benefit from the Stronghold mod. There are loads of guilds recruiting, so saddle up and join one that doesn't sound terrible. Throw some stuff in the coffers as you can and reap the benefits of being in a large group of people working towards a common goal.

You have to be in a big guild to reap the full benefits of Strongholds.
You have to be active in that big guild, or you will get kicked out of that guild very fast.

And by the time Underdark hits the game, the gap between solo players and guild players will be gigantic... have fun trying to catch up.

Thx for the heads-up, guys :)
I was actually hoping (JUST HOPING :D) that the new strongholds update would benefit both solo and Guild players like this;

-Solo players get a small stronghold with a few npcs and some customizability with a few pieces of furniture and so on. They get to enjoy some small scale npc attacks on their personal strongholds. This would mostly be the equivalent of player-housing in other MMOs (but with a neverwinter ''strongholds'' flair :P )

-Guilds (Guild players) get full-access to the stronghold update, having the possibility to create larger Towns full of npcs and players, and with more majestic Castles (etcatera) and they would have the full range of pvp invasions and attacks available to them.

Well, a man can hope, I guess.
Thx for the replies.

perhaps there will be something similar for the release of Strongholds to the Xbox, but i wouldn't count on it.

what a terrible bummer. i just came back to the game after about 10mnth away. had major surgery. my guild has since.. vanished. i thought maybe soloing the content.. yeah not gonna happen. it really sucks. im a founder in this game and it seems ill just.. re-delete it. if you arent mega active a guild will kick you no problem. sad, this game is decent.

Yupp :(
Dayum! I mean, I ADMIT that it would be fun to build a castle-town together with your guildies *IF* you have the amount of time and the possibility to change your daily schudle according to that.
BUT for folks like us with not SO much time to to invest into player interaction (A.K.A I CAN PUG but I honestly dont have the time of the day to socialize for hours in an mmo) this is a big let-downer, IMHO.
That's why I wish they had 2 different versions of this expansion (as I explained above).
A ''Stronghold Lite'' version for solo players (with lesser content and lesser possibilities to have a huge Town/city).
And a ''Standard version'' for players who have more time to invest into that stuff (with huge Castles and large Towns to build + Guild quests that are associated with it that require large/massive numbers of players to achieve).
That way, we could all win... sort of :)
Oh well, a man can Dream..

yeah.. its sad. i use to love the hell out of this game. way before it was on steam. =( oh well.. i guess ill just go back to warframe. at least in that game i have my own guild "dojo" instead of castle. everquest landmark is fun but they are slowly not updating that game.. hard to find a good game thats online. has player housing or guild bases, and is also soloable to an extent. im not asking for end game soloable stuff. but something..
i think i spent 300$ on my founders pack for this game. one with giant spider. shame..
