Character Slot

I know you ca get a 3rd character slot once you have a character at level 20, but lets say I buy a slot with the online currency, could I still earn that slot when levelling to 20 or does buying the 3rd slot make that void?

I cannot remember about the third character slot since it was a decade ago when I first start playing this game, I just come back after a long leave from the game. I had 32 characters at max level from before but I want to start a new character to experience how the game had changed, I bought a new slot with Zens and make a new character and level her to 20 and I was surprise that I still got an extra slot. Now I can make one more character if I want to. It seems that I was given a free slot.

Oh right, thank you for the info. I might just get a character to level 20 for my 9th slot, fingers crossed it works, I'll comment if it works once I'm done.

Having a lot of characters now don't have as much advantages as before, many quests become account wide limit, you can only get the reward once per account, it won't matter how many characters that have finished the same quest. Same with the daily AD limit. Having a lot of characters now actually is a big drain on your resources, you cannot share everything among your characters unless it says account wide.

I'm only looking to make one of each base game character/class. I prefer the Ranger play style, i solo'd the game with Ranger about 5 years ago on the Ps4, But would like the option to play other styles.

Ranger is still pretty good : )), I have tried all races and classes.
Paladin is the worst now and not good for solo.

Update!
So after purchasing 6 extra character slots, then levelling up a character to 20, it turns out that you don't get the free slot.

Hope you will get a free slot when you level all characters to level 20.

I highly doubt it, if i didn't get it after one level 20 character, i'm pretty sure i won't get it after doing all characters.

I had 32 level 20 characters, I made one more level 20 and somehow I got an extra slot for unknown reason.
I still mad at them for making all my old characters kind of useless.
