Noob question - insignia icon

hi there!
Sometimes in my inventory a mount insignia will have a little red thing showing near the bottom left-hand side of its icon.

I can't quite make out what the red thing is meant to be. I can't see any info relating to it in the insignia's info.

Can some kindly soul please let me know what this little thing on the icon means, please?

Might mean that the insignia is equipped on another loadout (similar thing happens with gear/companion gear and possibly others). Can't say for sure but this sounds like most plausible reason for the icon overlay you are describing.
