Neverwinter
help me choose a class.
hi I'm pretty new to the game and to MMOs in general (kinda) what is the easiest class with average to high damage.I'm looking at a wood elf sense it uses bows and arrows I won't really be playing alone as I'll be playing with a friend.

Hunter Ranger are a great choice if you want versatility. They can go both Ranged and Melee. What class is your friend going to play?

I'm not sure what class is she
go for the new class scourge warlock.... high damage and that class is pretty trippy man.
well choice control wizard that what i am
Sounds like you want to play a hunter ranger. Can literally make a wood elf with a bow =)
It depends. If you want to stay alive and be in the heart of battle all the time then choose GF. Max the hp on him you will rarely die. If you want to be in the heart of battle and kill multiple enemies at once then choose GWF. If you want to stay back and take out enemies before they get the chance to lay their hands on you choose HR. If you want to control enemies and keep them away from you then choose the CW. If you want to be a team/group supporter then choose DC, you will not die a lot because the DC is an essential part of the team and your group will protect you. If you want to be stealthy and pick your enemies off one by one then choose the TR. I dont know much about the SW because I am an old school player and stick to the original classes. Before you choose I also suggest that you take into consideration what class your friend is going to be. I suggest that you be a complete opposite class to what he/she is going to be. Good luck!
Hunter Ranger is the only class that is capable of using a bow so you are pretty limited if you really want a Wood Elf with a bow. Most classes are limited to a single weapon type. (Hunter Rangers have a melee and ranged weapon, but most others are generallly limited to Daggers, 1 handed, orbs, etc.)

I will contradict what most people are saying. Do not worry so much about what your friend is going to play. It is not really fair to skip a class just because your friend decided they wanted to play it. If you both end up as the Hunter Ranger class then... well you both end up playing that class. Leveling up is stupid easy solo, with a leveling buddy it is that much easier.

Your gaming style is however importiant. You already said you wanted high damage which means you are best with a DPS class/build. Trickster Rogues, Control Wizards, Scourge Warlocks, Great Weapon Fighters, and Hunter Rangers are generally DPS classes. I already mentioned that Hunter Ranger is the only class to use a bow (and I will admit they are fun). However Scourge Warlocks were (last I read) currently highest DPS. Both classes are fairly easy to use from what I have played of them.

My main is a Guardian Fighter (generally the tank class) and I can say that I enjoy playing that class. My first character was actually a Devoted Cleric then a Trickster Rogue. If my Guardian Fighter was not already 60 I would probably enjoy the Hunter Ranger more. (Though I am enjoying the Scourge Warlock a great deal).
The classes i like the best so far are the Devoted Cleric and the Scourge Warlock. I'd say choose warlock as it does more damage.
