Chris made a lot of promises and did not keep any. He promised 2 levels of dungeons(all dungeons and trials).. did not happen.
He pushed the HE's are good and those that do no like it are lazy mentality!
He simply did not care about all players and just some. sure the bis will be sorry to see the back of him but any player that want all of neverwinter to have fun will be glad he is gone!
It got so bad under his control that NORTHSIDE begged to be removed from his content creator program because he was forcing them to say things(or perhaps not say some things) even if they did not agree with it!
EDIT: Oh forgot to mention the combat rework and implementation was 100% his idea he came up with it and implemented it!
Collaborative Development Program and the Roadmap were two positive changes, if they only had put more work into those areas and actually listen to player feedback a bit more, the game might be in a better state by now...
Anyway, seeing that the article is from nearly two weeks ago, and that they have kept this thing very quiet, i'm just wondering if they even have plans for someone else taking over CW fromer job properly.
It would have been positive it he did what he said. He IGNORED people repeatedly on the CDP until a friend (in one case nova) said the same thing 5-6 people said before then he replied to nova!
The roadmap was NEVER followed he had 2 versions of dungeons and trial for last year and it is still not in game(also got removed silently on alter versions)!
The article was written by Chris's Discord friends so he told them long ago. I knew about it LONG before he changed his linked in profile!
That plus Bard might earn a reinstall.
Lol lets not pretend its not going go change much under the same company that ruins their mmorpgs. I'm hopeful but I highly doubt it as long as the company still owns it.
I agree with you.
Chris was a special kind of tyrant though. Chris told me in alliance chat he will listen to all players! When i asked him Why on his CTA he ignored multiple players(me included) and then replied to nova when he said same thing he could not answer. Also Chris had a guild kicked out of the alliance because i criticised him on official forum( i actually just reviewed his first year and it was a bad thing that it made him look bad)!
As someone that interacted with him in his time in the game i could see his "learning the game" (as stated on twitch) was running with bis only players carrying him through content in speed runs.Even while he had low il he never experienced the game yet pretended he did!
Oh I absolutely believe that. It does not surprise me one bit they hire wanna be tyrant insecure man children to lead these teams. Sadly the mom genre is in its worst state. I recently decided to go back to console so I'm playing PS now taking a big break from PC I'm so sick and tired of this crap. Hopefully a real mmorpg is around the corner, but I'm not crossing my fingers.
Aimed at DEVELOPERS
Rightly after the various releases of expansions and changes not nice (even hated in many cases) , the proposal of "a new class" in the game , the bard ..... NOOOOOO .
But why the hell do they release a new class and not make available the existing classes as in the paper game, not limited to a few skills as they have at the moment ?
An example of a limitation to better understand the "point of view exposed" , the mage and the priest, for example , does not have the "scarcity" of spells (it is already only this is a lot) and not in this one so devastated that persists for years , where each class is extremely limited in all , and in the use of objects , that in the use of his skills or spells that can have .
In a remote futuristic hypothetical update will completely transform even this version of neverwinter into an IDLE (taking into account that there is already a real idle unfortunately of this game), ie all automated, let's just start the game and see do everything from the computer ?
Worse and worse the "improvements" that you propose .
But so much , unfortunately, in a slow and gradual way I know that you are already aiming at a merger of the two types of game (IDLE and neverwinter) .
Implement the game better and do not add "things or classes" without having made the existing product that you put better .
The differences between this and the IDLE version of neverwinter are not very dissimilar to each other, except in the graphics, continuous regression and proposals released "sanctuary", to try to give a semblance of "fresh air" and "throw smoke in the eyes" to the consumer who of the world / universe of D&D knows 1/100 of what it really is.
You (DEVELOPERS) have the permission of "tinkering" with a product that has the potential of almost endless , but you have not made that grace the face to say, "so totalitarian that" all that this beautiful game stretch and inspired by a game EXISTING paper for many years, and "evolved" versions/editions LITTLE appreciated , type the 5 edition, which is adopted/used as a basis in the current game (I personally prefer the 2 and 3.5 edition ) .
But this game, which is based on the 5 edition if I remember correctly (which is a power play as a version) , is not as limited as you propose and continue to propose for years in many aspects .
Paper you can do many things, here instead more and more limited in the choice of spells and much more due to the presence of a system that requires the very limited use of skills, abilities and much more during the game, why?
Simple, is it difficult to implement it for those who use the play station , x-box or similar and would you lose the funds from the consumers of that user range/consumers ? How sad how you are increasingly "stripping" this game by limiting it.
Wouldn't you be able to put so many "functions" in the joypad that has few and "limited command keys"?
But better arrange the game DEVELOPERS instead of releasing additional things to try to collect funds from those who do not know D&D ?
The only game I am actually hyped for is Dragons Dogma 2.
I am currently playing Dragons Dogma and trying to finally finish nwn2 as a Warlock, heh.
